Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 718

Felix’s eyes lingered on Amelia, a mix of emotions flickering across his face.

He couldn’t help but picture another man—the one with that icy stare who, whenever he looked at Amelia, seemed to let springtime warmth melt straight into his eyes.

And just like that, the pieces clicked into place for Felix.

Of course. With how fiercely Ryan protected Amelia, there was no way he’d just let her get dragged into a dangerous place like Tiger Wind Island. If Tatum ever even thought about messing with her, the island wouldn’t last long enough for the military to show up. Some mysterious force would wipe it off the map first.

Unless…

“What’s on your mind?” Amelia asked, sharp as ever as she caught him staring. “Did you figure out why Tatum brought me here?”

Felix shook his head. “Not exactly. But I’m guessing it might have something to do with that secret research you and Tatum have been working on together.”

He changed the subject like it was nothing.

If Ryan was the one who arranged for Amelia to be here, then he must have had a reason—something important enough to risk it. Whatever the case, Felix trusted that Ryan would never put Amelia in harm’s way.

He loved her more than he loved himself, after all.

“So you stayed to find Dave and his team?” Amelia asked.

“That was the plan at first,” Felix said, his voice calm but determined as he looked at her. The firelight sharpened the lines of his face. “But now, I think the only way forward is to find the scholar Dave was sent to rescue. If Dave and the others disappeared while looking for him, maybe he’s the only one who knows what really happened.”

Amelia pressed her lips together in thought.

If Felix was right, maybe it wasn’t Tatum who wanted her here—it was that mysterious scholar. With her background in research, she could definitely help. And maybe that’s why Tatum had been treating her like a guest instead of a prisoner.
