Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 725

“Hey, Uda.” Clive reached out his hand.

Uda shook it with practiced politeness. “Salmeron, I’ve heard a lot about you.”

Clive couldn’t help but notice the angry wolf tattoo, fangs bared, stretched across Uda’s hand. If he wasn’t worried sick about Amelia, he’d never be sitting down with someone like this. It wasn’t that he was scared. Guys like Uda, who came up through back channels, always seemed ready to cross lines, and that spelled trouble Clive didn’t need.

They took their seats. Clive didn’t waste any time.

“Uda, I’ll get straight to the point. My ex-wife is on Tiger Wind Island right now. I’m seriously worried about her. I want to hire a team and go to the island myself to find her. Can you make that happen?”

Uda hadn’t even answered when Cameron, acting as the go-between, shot him a look.

“You want to go yourself? No way.” Cameron shook his head. “Uda’s got all kinds of connections on Tiger Wind Island. Let him put together a team who knows the place and send them to look for Amelia. You going over there is just too risky.”

Uda agreed. “Exactly, Salmeron. You’re not used to places like that. Forget the local gangs for a second—just the weather and the snakes would be too much. It’s not safe.”

But Clive didn’t budge. “I need to go myself. I want to see Amelia first, face to face.”

Ryan had stayed out of it this time, and Clive was pretty sure Amelia was already hurt by his attitude. And then there was Felix. If Clive didn’t show up himself, Felix might just swoop in and take his chance.

Uda looked at Cameron, almost asking for backup.

Cameron just sighed. “Clive, don’t do anything reckless. That place isn’t some beach vacation. It’s seriously dangerous.”

“I know what I’m doing,” Clive said, his voice steady. “Uda, I need you to put together your best team. Money’s not an issue.”

Uda nodded. “Alright, if you’re set on this, I’ll arrange it. But there’s something you need to know. We’ll need a contract. My guys will do everything they can to keep you safe, but anything can happen on that island. We can promise to bring you back in one piece, but if you get hurt or sick, that’s on you.”

“No problem,” Clive agreed, not even hesitating.

He’d never liked Amelia, and now all that resentment was just building up with nowhere to go. If Clive remarried her, Cameron would have to see her even more. She’d drive him crazy, no doubt.

Clive didn’t answer, and Cameron knew it was pointless to argue. He let out a long sigh. “Whatever. Just take care of yourself. I know you won’t listen to me anyway.”

Clive stubbed out his cigarette, then glanced over at Cameron, changing the subject.

“Caroline’s back safe,” he said, his tone chilly. “I’ve let her get away with too much. If she pulls anything else, I’m going to have to lay down the law. If I keep letting her run wild, she’s going to get herself into real trouble someday.”

“As long as she’s alright, that’s what matters.” Cameron thought Clive was upset about Caroline chasing after Felix and tried to calm him down. “She’s still a kid. Just give her a scare, cut off her cards for a while. She’ll learn.”

Clive just grunted, not wanting to get into it. What really made him angry was what Caroline had done to Amelia. Even though Caroline kept denying it, Clive could guess what happened. Jealousy must have gotten the best of her, and she’d ended up pushing Amelia back into the sea.

But no matter how mad he was, Caroline was still his little sister. If Amelia came back and pressed charges, Caroline could end up facing attempted murder.
