Amelia reacted as if a bee had stung her—she yanked the comforter over her head in a panic.
What on earth was she thinking?
Desire is fleeting, emptiness is desire—clearly, it had just been too long since she’d let off some steam, and now her thoughts were running wild. She wasn’t some lust-driven maniac, and she certainly wasn’t going to be swayed by a good-looking guy.
Just as she tried to get ahold of herself, the bathroom door creaked open and Daniel called out, “Amelia, could you grab me a bathrobe?”
Amelia stayed hidden under the covers, pretending she hadn’t heard. The bathroom had towels; what did he need a bathrobe for, anyway?
“Amelia,” he called again, lowering his voice, “if you don’t bring me one, I’ll come out and get it myself. Naked.”
That did it. Amelia threw back the comforter in exasperation.
Seriously?
Ruby was already asleep, and here he was, shouting across the room.
She stomped to the wardrobe, yanked out a bathrobe, and meant to toss it through the door and leave. But the door swung open just as she approached, and suddenly she was confronted with a scene straight out of a risqué magazine.
Daniel stood there, completely unbothered, confidently showing off a body that looked like it belonged on a marble statue.
Amelia’s face exploded in a blush. Flustered and embarrassed, she snapped, “Have you no shame? Why aren’t you wearing anything?”
Daniel just chuckled, amused. “If I had something to wear, why would I need you to bring me a bathrobe?”
Amelia could feel her heartbeat pounding in her ears, her words tumbling out without sense. “Why did you open the door, then?”
He laughed for real this time, shoulders shaking, water droplets sliding down his skin. “How else am I supposed to get the bathrobe if I don’t open the door?”
Amelia shoved the bathrobe at him and bolted.
Shameless jerk.
Total creep!
After the so-called creep finally put on his bathrobe and came out, Amelia was already tucked in bed. She’d even moved Ruby to the outer edge and curled up on the inside, putting as much space—and a small child—between her and Daniel as humanly possible.
Daniel had to lean over from the head of the bed to look at her. “I knew it. You’re just worried you can’t resist my charm, so you barricaded yourself in.”
She said nothing.

Ruby, lulled by the gentle motion of the car, nodded off in her car seat.
Amelia glanced at Daniel in the rearview mirror.
“Caught you staring again,” he teased, as if he had eyes in the back of his head.
Amelia kept her eyes on the road, voice deadpan. “Get over yourself. No one’s staring at you.”
“So you’re saying you didn’t just notice how handsome I’ve become?”
His ego was the size of a house.
Amelia didn’t even bother to roll her eyes. “Never took you for such a saint, Daniel.”

Amelia snorted. “Sure, you’re a real hero. Why don’t you tell me about your latest good deeds, so I can be properly impressed?”

I hope this couple gets back together and he is the donor for his daughter. Thank you for the new chapters....
How come in every novel I read on here the women don’t tell the men they are the father of their child? I find this ridiculous....
