Lisa's first instinct was to hide, but rushing to the bedroom wouldn't be practical. He would likely enter before she could get there.

Ultimately, she decided to make a dash for the nearest curtains. The floor-length curtains were the perfect hiding spot.

As soon as she hid, Logan opened the door and walked in. He immediately caught the subtle fragrance of bath gel and a woman's natural scent lingering in the air. Although it was faint, he picked up on it right away.

A hint of a smile played on his lips as his gaze swept the room and landed on the curtains.

"Logan, the decor of your place isn't quite what I had in mind." Joelle's voice rang out, jolting Lisa, who was hiding behind the curtain.

Lisa's mind flashed back to the previous night when she tried to test his feelings by pretending to be drunk. It seemed he truly had no feelings for her anymore. He was serious about pursuing a long-term relationship with Joelle.

Lisa dug her fingers into the wall behind her, feeling a knot in her stomach.

People really were pathetic, weren't they? They didn't cherish what they had until it was gone, and once they lost it, they couldn't stand the feeling.

Lisa used to look down on people like that. Now she had become the very person she despised.

Logan's voice brought her back to reality. "If you don't like it, we can always renovate or redecorate when you move in."

Joelle's voice had carried a hint of bashfulness.
