Just as Lisa was about to breathe a sigh of relief, she heard him say, "No need. I'll do it myself later."
Lisa was at a loss for words.
"Logan, can I take a look at this plant?" Although Joelle asked for permission, she was already walking toward the curtains, where Lisa was hiding.
The curtains were right next to the plant. Being so close, and with the bright snowlight outside, Joelle would have noticed her hiding behind them if she had been paying attention.
Lisa thought to herself, "I shouldn't have hidden here, but where else could I go?"
Logan was a minimalist, with nothing on his desk and everything stored in cabinets.
In any case, she shouldn't have been here at all.
Lisa held her breath, hoping that Joelle would just take a glance and leave. But the more she feared something, the more likely it was to happen.
Joelle began examining the plant and said to Logan, "Your plant is sick. Look at the black spots on the leaf tips. It's probably from excess nutrients. This needs to be taken care of, or they will spread and affect its appearance."
It was only then that Lisa remembered Joelle was a biology graduate student.
"How should I handle it?" Logan asked, surprisingly cooperative.
"Leave it to me! I'll take care of it." Joelle seemed ready to act immediately—Lisa could almost see her rolling up her sleeves from behind the curtain.
Lisa closed her eyes in despair. If Joelle started working on this now, she wondered if she'd survive being stuck here all morning.
"Not today, maybe some other time," Logan said, declining the offer.
Finally, he did something that saved her life.
Lisa was about to let out a sigh of relief when she heard Joelle say, "Is this curtain from Inaty's GC?"
As Joelle spoke, she was already standing in front of the curtains. Lisa could almost feel her breath penetrating through the fabric to her side.
She had a good eye for quality. Every item in Logan's home was something money alone couldn't necessarily buy.
"Well, you can't just do half a curtain set, can you?" Lisa thought sarcastically.
"Logan, I've heard the patterns on the back of GC curtains are all handmade, with no visible stitch marks. I've always heard about it, but never seen one. Can I take a look?" Joelle asked.
Lisa was speechless.
Was Joelle planning to join her behind the curtain?
Now there was truly no escape.
"Sure," Logan agreed.
Lisa closed her eyes. She couldn't face what was about to be the most embarrassing moment in her life.
