A kind-hearted boss who always brought great benefits during holidays—I would have worshiped him too if I had been in their shoes.
"We're heading home for now. We'll come back if anything happens," Brandon explained the situation to Logan. He nodded at me over Brandon and even said, "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," I replied.
As I watched his car pull into the hospital, I couldn't help but smile. Brandon looked at me. "What's so funny?"
"Lisa is bound to run into him when he gives out the bonuses," I said, then thought of something. "Brandon, do you think Logan is being generous to the hospital because of Lisa?"
He replied, "I'm not sure."
I turned to him. "Are you sure you don't know?"
Brandon ruffled my hair. "Everyone else gets dumber when they're pregnant, but you're just getting smarter!"
So I guessed right.
When Logan arrived, Lisa was chatting with a group of people. Next to her was Matt Yabe, a young handsome cardiothoracic surgeon with striking features. Whatever he and Lisa were discussing seemed to bring a bright smile to her face. She was so absorbed that she didn't even notice the arrival of this "important figure".
It wasn't until Jonathan, the hospital director, announced, "Please welcome Mr. Logan Cohen, the chairman of Cohen Group."
The smile on Lisa's face visibly faded as she looked up and met Logan's deep, unreadable eyes. She could faintly sense his displeasure.
Who had managed to upset him this time?
Lisa thought to herself, "It's Christmas. Why isn't he at home taking care of his parents? What's he doing here seeking attention?"
The person next to her, Matt, nudged her. "Clap."
The crowd's applause was even more enthusiastic than before, shaking the entire hall.
The news of the generous bonus sent everyone into a joyful frenzy. Then Jonathan announced that, except for those on duty, everyone could take time off to go home and celebrate the holidays.
As people left the banquet hall, they were all praising Logan, commenting on his good looks, wealth, and generosity. A ten thousand dollars bonus was undoubtedly the height of extravagance.
However, Lisa's lack of enthusiasm stood out, and Jonathan couldn't help but tease her. "Dr. Carline, why don't you seem excited? Is Mr. Cohen's bonus not big enough for you?"
Her eyes met Logan's. "It's not big enough."
Jonathan had been joking, but her response left him feeling awkward. "Dr. Carline..."
Before Jonathan could finish, Logan said, "I'll give you a bigger one tonight."
