Luna's Deadly Deception: How She Made Her Alpha Pay novel Chapter 14

Thea kept Kieran's impending arrival from her parents, who were already busy preparing to announce her as heir to the Norwegian Wolf Enterprises.

"Join us for dinner tomorrow," her mother said. "We'd like you to meet someone."

Thea understood their pattern - these dinners were introductions to powerful pack members.

The next evening, Thea drove her parents to a cliffside restaurant overlooking the fjords, unaware of the dark vehicle trailing them.

At the restaurant, she stepped into a corridor to admire the vast ocean view. Suddenly, a shadowy figure approached. Strong hands shoved her shoulders, and as she reached for the railing, another push sent her plummeting into the icy waters.

The freezing Norwegian Sea silenced her cry for help. As consciousness faded, a strong arm grabbed her.

Minutes later, she found herself in the arms of a wolf with striking features. His grey suit clung to his form, dripping with seawater.

"Miss Blackwood, let's get you warm," he said, carrying her inside.

After changing, Thea studied him. "You know me?"

Magnus Steele smiled, now wearing dry clothes. "I know your father."

The restaurant staff reported the cameras had been covered. The assailant's face remained hidden behind a mask.

That night, Thea sent the footage to Sarah. "Help me identify him. If Magnus hadn't appeared..."

Meanwhile, Aurora paced her den, frustrated by Kieran's ignored communication. When her communication crystal finally rang, it was Axel.

"What? Thea was rescued? By whom?"

As Axel described the evening's events, Aurora's claws dug into her palms, jealousy burning. Why did the Moon Goddess keep protecting Thea?
