Third–person POV:
Jennifer Barkley arrived at the famed Yves Poleen Salon.

It was the spot Nordvale’s werewolf socialites frequented; every drop of oil here was blended with calming lunar–herb essence, maximizing a she–werewolf’s skin and coat sheen.
Each VIP had a private treatment room and a dedicated beautician.
Jennifer stepped into one such VIP suite and saw Amya and Shelby already there.
This room was nearly a thousand square feet–soak zone, full–body care, hair area, plus a sitting nook for guests.
Jennifer crossed over, tossed her Hermès onto the table, and sank into the sofa. She crossed her legs; the seven–centimeter red heels were impossible to miss.
She flipped open a tin of ladies‘ cigarettes, lit one, set it between her lips, drew deep, and exhaled slowly.
Amya and Shelby were far less composed; both looked noticeably haggard.
Shelby leaned back with a sigh. “I haven’t slept in days. As soon as I doze off, I see Mr. Eaton about to kill someone.”
Amya, with raccoon eyes, muttered, “Same. Ugh, I’m about to lose my mind.”
Jennifer pinched the slim cigarette between her fingers, tapped the ashtray, voice edged with displeasure.
“You two cowards. Listen up–don’t you dare leak a thing. If you do, I won’t spare you.”
A knock came at the door.
Amya and Shelby clamped their mouths shut and lifted the flower tea for a dainty sip.
Selina Bright, the beautician in a gray uniform, entered with fruit and red wine. She was Jennifer’s personal attendant.
She set the wine on the table, uncorked it, and poured for all three.
“Ms. Barkley, would you like facial care today, or the full–body treatment?”

“Later, I’ll soak in a milk bath. Not now. You can go. And don’t let anyone in to disturb us.”
Selina nodded. “Of course, Ms. Barkley, Call if you need anything”
As she rose, she palmed a tiny concealed recorder to the underside of the table without a sound, then left.
With the room clear, Shelby blurted, “Jenni, how is this getting handled?”
Amya’s eyes were fixed on Jennifer.
Both were from affiliate packs under Bluestone; after what happened, their parents had practically grounded them.
Jennifer’s replies by phone had been vague and airy.
They’d been scared sick.
Mooncrown’s Alpha was infamous for ruthless methods.
If this traced back to them, they were finished.
They hadn’t done anything–Jennifer was the mastermind!
Jennifer shot them a lofty glance, took another drag, and exhaled.
After a beat, she said, “My nanny confessed to doing the whole thing.”
Shelby exclaimed, “Ah!”
Amya said, “A fall guy. Got it.”
Shelby suddenly thought of something. “But even if she confessed… what if someone spooked her and she flipped on you, Jenni?”
Jennifer’s lip curled, frosty. “Which is why she’s dead.”
Shelby’s eyes
widened.
She was the timid sort; under Jennifer’s lead, she’d bullied people before, but murder–her voice shook. “Don’t tell me… Jenni, you actually … killed her.”
