That day, I went to beg the nanny. She hesitated and wavered, but in the end, she agreed to take the fall for me.
But I still wasn’t at ease.
Only the dead don’t talk.
I’d been drinking; for a moment, I lost head.

As I turned, I picked up the fruit knife on the table and drove it straight into her body.
I still remember the look in her eyes–pupils blown wide with disbelief.
But I don’t feel the least bit guilty.
She said she loved me. She said she was willing to give me her life.
So, this time, I merely helped the nanny fulfill what she once said.
I crushed the cigarette hard into the ashtray, voice like ice. “It was me. Yes, me. If she didn’t die, who knows if they’d trace it back to me.”
Amya put up a thumbs–up. “Jenni, you’re ruthless.”
The corner of my mouth hooked. “Not ruthless? And let them find out it was my idea to get that cheap woman, Deanna, into the storage room and open the freezer to chill her to death?
“What’s a pity is she and the brat in her belly actually turned out fine. If the pup had been gone, she’d have lost her value. Mr. Eaton wouldn’t have made such a fuss.”
Who knows, I might even have had a shot at becoming Mooncrown’s Luna.
Violet’s POV:
I sat on the sofa in the salon’s VIP room, sipping coffee.
Before long, Selina came in. “I’ve placed the recorder just as you instructed.”
I looked up and smiled. “Thank you.”

I took a bank card from my bag and handed it to her.
Selina didn’t take it.
I went on alert. “What’s wrong?”

Selina stared at me, cheeks flushing. “I … our whole pack is your fan. You don’t need to pay me. Violet, could I have your autograph?”
I exhaled in relief–so she was a fan.
“Sure.” I reached into my bag for a sheet of paper to sign.
Selina raised one finger. “Um… ten thousand copies.”
I was speechless.
Er… might as well have asked for the money.
Deanna’s POV:
Violet brought the recorder to my room. I pressed play on the spot.
After listening, Violet slammed the table with her palm. “That Jennifer is vicious–she even killed the nanny who raised her. Now that we’ve got proof, why not hand it to the Werewolf Enforcement Bureau and have her sentenced?”
I shook my head. “Bluestone Pack is still a high–profile, big pack. Even with this, if we turn it in, they could still work connections and bail her out.”
Violet looked at me. “Then, what do you want to do?”
I stroked my belly. “I can be discharged tomorrow. When the time comes, we’ll pay her a proper visit.”
This time, I almost lost the baby. I won’t let her off.
Violet nodded, then waggled her brows, all mischief.
“Ugh, I’m telling you–Mr. Eaton is way too protective. He won’t even let you get out of bed before discharge. He’s feeding you, and even bathing you himself, right?”
Heat crept up my face..
I thought of a certain man helping me shower last night…

“Don’t go all shy with me–I’ve got a man too. Didn’t you say Mr. Eaton is a beast–seven times a night? Mine’s … passable. One night, eh, barely five times, but it works.”
