Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 392

Third-person POV:

Victoria was the vice president of the Nordvale Foundation.

Tonight's charity gala was basically her home turf.

So she brought Jennifer along on purpose. She wanted to use this event—full of wealthy families, famous names, and powerful Alphas from major packs—to make Jennifer shine. Her plan was simple. She wanted to help Jennifer meet a strong Alpha, preferably one from an old and powerful pack.

Victoria's husband had passed away, and she needed a strong pack and partner to rely on. Only then could she keep her influence inside the Bluestone Pack.

The current Alpha, Carey, still treated her and Jennifer kindly out of respect for the past. But he was old.

And once he died, both Victoria's and Jennifer's status in the pack would become shaky. They might lose everything.

A few days ago, Victoria even visited the mother of the Alpha from the Grisclaw Pack.

The woman didn't reject Jennifer outright, but it was clear she wasn't interested.

So tonight's gala was extremely important for both Victoria and Jennifer.

Just then, Hazel Carlson—the president of the Nordvale Foundation—spotted Deanna and Violet. Hazel's eyes lit up, and she immediately walked over to greet them.

The other socialites quickly followed her like ducks in a row.

Victoria and Jennifer also saw Deanna walk in. Their bodies stiffened, and they froze for a moment.

Jennifer's brows tightened so hard they almost knotted.

Victoria wanted to pretend she didn't see Deanna.

But everyone else was heading over.

As the vice president of the Foundation, she couldn't stand still without looking rude, so she had no choice but to follow Jennifer.

Hazel reached out her hand.

"Welcome, Mrs. Eaton. We're honored to have you join us tonight."

Deanna shook her hand politely.

"A charity event supporting people with disabilities is something worth attending."

Hazel smiled and turned to the group of wealthy ladies around them.

"I don't think any of you have heard this yet! Mrs. Eaton donated 20 million dollars before the gala even started. She's truly kind—and admirable!"

Deanna added calmly, "It's just the Mooncrown Pack's way of giving back to the community."

The crowd's attitude changed instantly, and they all began praising her.

Our servant died. You're standing here healthy. If you still complain, you're being petty.

Violet let out a sharp laugh.

"That's ridiculous. How can your servant even be compared to the Luna of the Mooncrown Pack? Honestly, even your daughter Jennifer doesn't come close."

Jennifer couldn't take it anymore. She was nothing like Victoria—she didn't know how to fake a smile. She was about to snap back, but Victoria grabbed her hand to stop her.

Victoria's lips curved gently as she spoke with false sweetness.

"There's no such thing as high or low among people. I'm sure Ms. Wiley, who donated 20 million dollars tonight, won't use her status to bully anyone."

Deanna's expression stayed calm. She didn't take the bait.

She smiled back.

"There's a saying. Whatever the servants do comes from how their master teaches them. Maybe you've heard it? I'm a person who rewards kindness and pays back cruelty. I'm forgiving toward good people, but I can't stand those with poison in their hearts."

Jennifer finally lost control. Anger rushed straight to her head.

Whenever she saw Deanna, she felt uncomfortable all over.

She snapped, "Don't push it! The Bluestone Pack has already settled everything with you! What more do you want?"
