Zelena's POV:
These past few days, the Mooncrown Pack had dispatched numerous wolf guards to search everywhere for something.
That stupid mutt must be dead.
Deanna and Luis were tracking me down.
If I hadn't used my last bit of savings to buy a scent-masking potion, I probably would have been caught by now.
But the potion had run out, and I couldn't stay here any longer. I had to pack my bags and get out of here fast.
Come to think of it, I'd actually gotten pretty good at evading people and dodging trackers.
As long as I left Nordvale first and found some remote place to hide, I could wait until things blew over and their guard was down before coming back.
By then, no one would find me.
I needed to lay low for now and bide my time to plan my next move.
Until the final moment, nobody knew who would come out on top.
When I walked out of my room dragging a large suitcase, I ran right into my parents.
"What's going on here?" Mom asked.
"Are you moving?" Dad added.
My expression hardened. "Mom, Dad, I'm going somewhere. You two stay home and don't go anywhere. If anyone comes looking for me, just say you don't know anything."
Mom frowned. "Zelena, what kind of trouble did you get yourself into this time? Why are you running off again?"
I snapped at her. "Don't worry about it. Just take care of yourselves and don't give away where I am. I'll come back for you when I'm done with my business."
With that, I dragged my suitcase and tried to squeeze past them. Dad instinctively reached out to stop me. "Zelena, wait. Tell us what's going on..."
Just then, a massive thud echoed through the house.
The front door was violently kicked open from the outside.
Violet's POV:
I stared at her without a trace of warmth. "My attitude depends entirely on what your daughter has done. And if I find out you two were her accomplices, I won't let any of you off the hook!"
The strain of detoxifying Puddy had threatened Deanna's pregnancy, and she had spent the past few days in the hospital. Luis hadn't left her side for even a second.
When I went to visit Deanna, I happened to overhear Luis and Erik talking in the hallway outside her room.
It turned out the wolf guards sent by the Mooncrown Pack had found the address where Zelena was hiding.
The moment I heard that, I gathered my people and came straight here.
Last time, I had been too soft-hearted and only gave that woman a warning.
I thought she would at least reflect on her wrongdoings and change her ways.
But instead, Zelena had only gotten worse, scheming against Deanna over and over again.
Every time I thought of Deanna lying in that hospital bed, the rage in my chest blazed like wildfire. I couldn't even sleep at night.
