Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 433

Deanna's POV:

In the kitchen, Luis stood with his back to me at the stove, tall and broad-shouldered with a tapered waist.

I slowly wrapped my arms around him from behind, resting my head against his firm back, the comforting scent of cedarwood mingling with the faint aroma of cooking.

Luis's movements paused. "Why aren't you resting outside?"

"Darling."

I felt his body tense almost imperceptibly for a moment before he responded with a low hum. "Hm?"

His eyes were impossibly tender, his Adam's apple bobbing as my voice sent a tightening sensation through his lower abdomen.

My fingertips traced idle patterns over his shirt. "You still haven't said those words to me yet..."

Luis went silent for two seconds, then turned off the stove and faced me. His deep voice sounded like it had been roughened by sandpaper.

"Honey. I love you, too."

...

After dinner and a shower that evening, I lounged lazily against the headboard, head bowed as I replied to calls and messages.

Even old classmates I hadn't heard from in over a decade were suddenly reaching out with long-overdue greetings.

Violet was so excited she wanted to video call and meet up, but I managed to talk her down for now.

Because tonight was our bonding night, and I just wanted to be alone with Luis.

Suddenly, I noticed that Malcolm had also commented "Congratulations" under my latest post.

Just then, the bathroom door opened softly.

Luis walked out. He had only a white towel wrapped loosely around his waist. Droplets of water rolled down his chiseled chest and the defined lines of his abs, disappearing beneath the edge of the towel.

He walked straight to the bed and scooped me into his arms.

"What are you looking at so intently?"

I set my phone aside, afraid to stir up this jealous man's possessive streak right now.

I turned halfway in his embrace, nuzzling my nose against his warm, still-damp skin, playfully shifting to find a more comfortable position.

His Adam's apple was sharp and impossibly sexy, and I couldn't help but tilt my head up to kiss it, my voice soft and coy. "Right now, I'm looking at you."

Luis's gaze burned as he stared at me, his hand stroking through my long hair. "Is that so? Then make sure you watch closely later. Watch how I love you."

Luis stepped forward and took the suitcase from her hands like a gentleman. He glanced at me, then turned to Kathryn. "Mom, Deanna and I are here to take you home."

Hearing him address her that way, my mother looked momentarily surprised before the corners of her lips curved upward. She handed over the suitcase.

We returned to the Mistbane Pack's main house.

The servants bustled about, preparing an elaborate spread of dishes.

During the meal, Kathryn occasionally asked a question or two.

Luis answered each one with calm composure, his demeanor neither arrogant nor humble.

Even at the dinner table, Luis continued to attentively serve me food.

He peeled the shrimp and placed the meat on a small white porcelain plate, then carefully deboned the fish and transferred it to my plate, his movements practiced and natural.

I looked up and caught my mother watching Luis with an expression of clear approval.

I cleared my throat and spoke up. "Mom, we've already officially registered our mate bond at the city hall."

Kathryn didn't look surprised. She nodded and turned to Luis. "So when are you planning to hold the mating ceremony?"
