Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 437

Deanna's POV:

I looked up at the building and froze for a second.

I'd only been to Mooncrown Corporation a few times, always with Luis or when I needed his help. I'd never gone on my own.

"He's probably caught up in work. I don't think it's a good time."

"Oh, come on. You're not just his wife. You're the Luna now. And a shareholder. You have every right to be there. Let's go!"

She was relentless. I ended up letting her pull me along.

As soon as we stepped inside, the staff in the lobby recognized me. They each gave a slight nod, showing quiet respect.

No one stopped us. We took the CEO's private elevator straight to the top floor.

The idea of doing a "check-in" made me uneasy. I turned to Violet and whispered, "Maybe we should leave. We could come back another day."

"We're already here!" she said quickly. Her eyes were full of excitement. "Think of it as a surprise visit. And I want to see what kind of office a full-blood Alpha keeps."

When we entered the executive suite, all the assistants stood from their desks and greeted me together. "Hello, Luna."

I waved for them to sit. "Keep working. Don't mind us."

Violet and I continued toward the CEO's office.

Just as I lifted my hand to knock, we heard voices inside.

"My boy, I heard you transferred twenty percent of Mooncrown Corporation to that woman. I suppose she really matters to you?"

A moment of silence followed. Then came a sharp, low laugh from the man speaking.

Luis answered without emotion. His voice was flat.

"Women are all the same. She's only here to carry the Mooncrown bloodline. After the baby is born, she won't matter anymore."

He chuckled again. "That's how you do it, Luis. A real leader does not waste time on petty emotions. Once my great-nephew is born, I will make sure he receives something worthy."
