Luis's POV:
I stood by the windows in my office, staring out at the cityscape.
Aaron was behind me, delivering his report.
"Sir, after the corporate summit, Harry partnered with several minor investors. They sold their shares to Grant. His current share isn't large, but he's been stirring things up in private. That incident with the North District project? Our team traced it back to his men.
"He's been interfering with the overseas deals too. Looks like he's trying to profit while we're tied up with bigger issues."
I looked down. None of it surprised me.
"What's the status of his Euron chemical site?"
"We've submitted his violations. The paperwork's been filed. Euron should be moving to shut down his assets any day now."
"Good," I said.
Aaron paused. His brows drew together. "If he realizes he's cornered, he may lash out. He may get reckless. You might be a target."
I said nothing, but I clenched my phone tighter. My knuckles began to press against the skin. "Double the protection around the Luna."
Aaron's POV:
"Yes, Alpha." I bowed low and left the office.
Once I stepped out, I let out a breath.
The tension inside the pack and across the company had reached a breaking point. You could feel it in every hallway.
Grant had returned to Nordvale making a scene. He made a spectacle of himself, buying up Mooncrown Corporation shares in public.
In public, he played the part. Behind closed doors, he was laying traps. The company felt like a war zone.
The Alpha handled every strike with control. He was ruthless and sharp.
Violet's POV:
They wore dark, tailored suits that barely hid the bulk of their builds. I caught their scent right away—Gammas, at least.
"Ms. Wiley, our boss would like to have a word."
I stepped in front of Deanna and narrowed my eyes. I went on high alert.
"Who's your boss? And why does he want to see her?"
The taller one ignored me entirely. His eyes stayed fixed on Deanna.
"Our employer is Mr. Grant, the Alpha's uncle. He's waiting in the suite on 77. The Alpha is there as well. You can rest assured."
I opened my mouth, ready to argue. But the other man stepped aside and motioned toward the elevators. His manner was polite, but it left no room for negotiation.
And just like that, Deanna and I were taken up to the 77th floor.
