Deanna's POV:

One evening, after Sunny turned a month old, I leaned back on the couch, watching flowers bloom wildly in the yard outside the window.

Luis sat beside me with a few documents on his lap, but he wasn't reading them.

He set them aside and turned to me, his voice calm and careful. "There's something. We talked about it before."

I understood right away.

Luis and Kathryn had mentioned it earlier. Once the baby was born, we'd have a proper mating ceremony.

"You're still thinking about that?" I asked softly, warmth spreading through my chest.

I knew he'd been busy. He was caring for our newborn pup, cleaning up Grant's remaining forces in Euron, and handling the Westwind Pack under Harry.

"I never forgot." Luis took my hand, his thumb unconsciously rubbing the simple diamond ring on my finger.

"Things were messy before. Now..." He paused before continuing, "I want to give you what you deserve."

My heart trembled slightly. I hesitated before saying, "Will it be too much trouble? Sunny is still so small, and the pack has a lot going on."

I wasn't refusing. I was just stating the obvious concerns.

Luis shook his head, his gaze firm. "No. We'll hold it at the estate. I want the entire Mooncrown Pack to know who you are. It won't be overly grand, but..."

He paused again. "Every important step will be included. Especially the mark."

He said that word very softly, but his fingers tightened around mine. The mark was the final bond between werewolf mates, sealed by blood and oath, almost like minds linking together.

For us, it meant everything.

I looked into his eyes and saw expectation, seriousness, and a faint trace of tension.

"Okay." I nodded, smiling gently. "I'll follow your lead."
