Chapter 48 How Good Is Luis in Bed?

Deanna’s POV:

Once my phone was fixed, I went straight to Violet’s luxury penthouse.

After a shower, I slipped into loose pajamas. I had just stepped into the living room and grabbed a bottle of water when the front door opened.

Violet walked in wearing a red cocktail dress, her face still intact with makeup she partially removed.

blinked. “Why are you back so early?”

She tossed her heels aside and flopped onto the couch.

‘Luis left. Everyone lost interest, so the party ended early.”

The second I heard his name, I froze with my glass halfway up.

Trying to play it cool, I asked, “Earlier on the phone, you mentioned Luis. What happened?”

Violet’s eyes lit up with excitement.

‘Remember Sarah from the Bloodcrown Pack? I’ve hated her forever! Tonight she tried to flirt with Luis, but he completely ignored her. Then he dumped a whole glass of wine on her! You should’ve seen her face–like she’d just swallowed a bug. It was hilarious!”

She leaned back, grinning. “The status of Mooncrown alpha is different. They’re above everyone else and do whatever they want. Before leaving, Luis even chewed out Sarah and Chad right there and didn’t hold back at all.”

Violet waved her hand. “Sarah’s dumb, sure, but she is pretty. Still, I heard Luis is gay. That’s why he acts like that.”

She sighed dramatically. “And it’s such a waste. His body is better than a model’s. If really is gay, what a shame.”

‘Pfft!” I almost sprayed water everywhere and ended up choking instead.

‘You okay, babe?” Violet sat up and patted my back.

waved her off. “I’m fine. Just swallowed wrong.”

Her eyes suddenly lit up again. She leaned close, grinning.

“By the way, why were you looking for Luis last time? I saw in the news that your pack secured an 80 billions dollar investment from Mooncrown. But aren’t you supposed to become the Luna of the Olsendreich Pack? Why wasn’t Jake the one investing?”

I frowned. “Jake and I broke up.”

“I know, you told me,” she said lazily, eyes already closing like she wasn’t paying attention.

The way she brushed me off made my irritation flare. I reached over and pinched the soft flesh on her stomach.

“See? You don’t believe me!”

“Ouch!” She squealed, jumping up and pouting. “Hey, easy! I’m your best friend, remember?”

“Then answer me–do you truly believe I broke up with him?”

Violet finally dropped her joking tone and sat up straight.

“Dede, I’ve told you to dump Jake at least a thousand times. But every time you’d cry about him, and then the next day you’d run right back. How do you expect me to believe you now?”

I quietly pulled my hand back.

She wasn’t wrong.

I had been the fool, and I’d created that impression myself.

Everyone believed I was hopelessly in love with Jake and that I would never leave him.

Now it was biting me back.

But Violet was my best friend. I didn’t care what anyone else thought, but she couldn’t keep misunderstanding me.

So, I tugged open two buttons of my pajama top.

Across my neck and collarbone, the marks still stood out, scattered and dark.

Violet’s eyes went wide. She pointed at me, her voice shooting up an octave.

‘Holy cow! Did you and Jake finally spend the night together? That jerk! How could you let him?”

“It wasn’t him.” I cut her off, took a deep breath, and said the name. “It was Luis.”

“Luis?! That future Alpha?!” Violet jumped off the couch like she’d been shocked. “Wasn’t he supposed to be gay?!”

I couldn’t help but laugh and shake my head. “Pretty sure he’s not. Unless he swings both ways.”

“Ahhh! Deanna, are you serious? And you’re only telling me now?” Violet grabbed my arm and shook me so hard my head spun.

I had no choice but to explain the basics of what had happened these past weeks.

I skipped over the kidnapping part so she wouldn’t worry.

When I finished, Violet slapped her thigh. “Girl, you’re amazing! You finally dumped Jake! Do you know how often I cursed him in my head when you were with him?”

Then she leaned in close, lowering her voice to a whisper, her eyes gleaming with gossip.

“So, how good is Luis?”
