Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 320

Chapter 320

Reven’s POV

Two Weeks Later

Today was the Dday.

The day of the full moon ceremony.

The day Alpha Ethan would finally make his choice.

The day my fate would either be sealedor shattered beyond repair.

I lay still on the bed for a long moment, staring at the ceiling as pale morning light crept in through the curtains. My heart was already racing, pounding so loudly it felt like it might give me away even in the quiet of my room.

My chest was tight with emotions I didn’t know how to name fear, hope, dread, and something dangerously close to longing.

I swallowed hard and forced myself to sit up, my feet touching the cold floor as I exhaled shakily.

Get up, Raven, I told myself firmly. You have too much to do today.

The pack would be busy from morning until night. Preparations for the ceremony were extensive, and despite everything that had happened between me, Ethan, and Vera, I was still part of this pack. Still expected to play my role. I was still expected to pretend that today didn’t hold the power to destroy me.

I walked into the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would calm the storm inside me. The woman staring back at me from the mirror looked exhausted, eyes shadowed, lips pale, and shoulders tense. I looked nothing like a woman who might be chosen as an Alpha’s mate. I looked like someone preparing for war.

After brushing my teeth, I changed into simple clothes nothing fancy, nothing that would draw attention. I didn’t want stares. I didn’t want whispers. And I especially didn’t want Vera’s drama today.

As I stepped out of my room, I hesitated, then turned toward the kidsroom.

No matter what happened today, they came first.

I knocked softly and entered, my lips curving into a faint smile when I saw them already awake, rubbing sleep from their

eyes.

Good morning,” I said gently.

Mummy!they chorused, their voices instantly lifting my mood as they rushed toward me.

I helped them get ready, fixing their clothes, smoothing their hair, and tying loose strands and buttons, grounding myself in the familiar routine. Then I guided them downstairs for breakfast just like always. Just like the habits that kept me sane.

As usual, I was late.

The dining hall was already half full when we arrived. I took the first available seat, helping the kids sit properly before settling down myself. I picked at my food, chewing mechanically barely tasting anything.

That was when I felt it.

His gaze.

Alpha Ethan.

It was heavy, intense, and impossible to ignore, like heat against my skin. My fingers tightened slightly around my cutlery, but I didn’t look up.

I couldn’t. I didn’t have the strength to face whatever emotion might be reflected in his eyes this morning.

Instead, I focused on the kids, encouraging them to cat, reminding them gently, and nodding when they spoke. I pretended everything was normal.

After breakfast, I stood up and gestured to a nearby maid.

Please take them back to their room,” I said quietly. Make sure they stay there until I return.”

The maid nodded respectfully and led the kids away, and only then did I allow myself a deep breath.

I headed outside.

The open field where the full moon ceremony would be held was already buzzing with activity. Lanterns were being hung, flowers arranged, and tables set. Wolves moved back and forth with purpose, voices overlapping. The air felt charged, tense, like the calm before a storm everyone sensed but refused to name.

That was when I saw Vera.

She stood near the center of the field, her posture rigid, her face twisted in anger. A maid knelt before her on the rough ground, trembling so badly it made my chest ache.

I’m sorry, Luna,” the maid pleaded. It was an accident-

You call spilling water all over me an accident?Vera shouted. Do you know how important today is?

I approached cautiously. What happened?

Vera snapped her head toward me, eyes sharp with irritation. This stupid, useless maid spilled water on me.

I looked at the kneeling girl, her hands scraped, her

eyes filled with fear.

And because of that,I said carefully, keeping my voice calm, you made her kneel on rough ground?

Vera scoffed. It’s none of your business.

It is my business when you’re humiliating someone for a mistake,” I replied evenly.

I turned to the maid. Stand up. You can go.”

The maid hesitated, glancing nervously at Vera.

I said go,” I repeated, firmer this time.

The girl scrambled to her feet and ran off without looking back,

Vera’s eyes blazed. Don’t meddle in my affairs. Remember today is the full moon ceremony. Alpha Ethan will finally mark me as his mate.

I smiled faintly, not mockingly, not challengingly. Just sadly.

I hope everything goes well,I said simply.

She glared at me as I walked away.

I joined the other maids, helping with decorations. Some tried to stop me, insisting they could handle it, but I shook my

It’s my pack tooI said quietly, And I have nothing else to do

They nodded, accepting my help.

I worked tirelessly hanging lanterns until my arms burned, arranging flowers until my fingers ached, and helping in the kitchen with food preparations until the smell of spices clung to my clothes. I lost track of time, burying myself in work to avoid thinking

By the time I was done, my body was sore, my head pounding, and exhaustion settling deep into my bones.

I headed back toward my room.

But halfway there, my steps slowed.
