Gillian withdrew her hand calmly and smiled. “Ms. Locke, you’ve arrived at the right time. You must be worn out from the long trip back from Capital Planet. Would you like to rest first?”
Elara nodded. “I will follow your arrangements, Captain Sterling.”
Gillian found Elara far more approachable than her cold exterior suggested.
She checked the time. There were only five minutes left before Evelyn and the others finished their exams.
Gillian turned to Elara to negotiate politely. “Ms. Locke, all treatment rooms in Hall One are occupied for/ morning assessments for medical staff. The exam will end in five minutes. Would you mind waiting a litle longer?”
“Of course not.”
Elara had already noticed the empty hall.
She whispered a few words to the ten clerics beside her. Though they looked displeased, they all sat down obediently.
Gillian then turned to the group of beastman soldiers gathered at the Hall One entrance. “Everyone, please head back to Hall Five. I will reopen my consultation desk in twenty minutes.”
The crowd dispersed at once, relieved to know she would resume work soon.
Elara watched Gillian’s retreating figure with a scrutinizing gaze.
One of the female clerics beside her spoke in a disgruntled tone. “Elara, you fought tooth and nail to bring us back, yet even your spot is taken. We’d better head right back.”
Elara simply lifted her eyes and glanced at the speaking female cleric.
The woman fell silent immediately, clearly intimidated by Elara.
She sat back down and muttered under her breath. “Fine, I’ll stay. I wouldn’t have come all the way to the Outer Planet to lay low otherwise. Hmph.”
Five minutes passed.
The metal doors slid open, and a large group of female candidates walked out of the exam room.
Elara blinked in surprise. All of them were female medical trainees.
“Captain Sterling, we did really well!” Evelyn ran over to Gillian, brimming with joy as she shared their good news.
Harper followed closely behind and nodded at Gillian. “We followed your advice and chose medical specialties we’re good at. The exam went smoothly.”

“Excellent. Stay focused and careful during this afternoon’s practical test, and you’ll pass easily. Evelyn. Harper, take the others to Hall Five to observe working medical staff. Learn as much as you can from their operations.”
“Yes, Captain Sterling.”
Evelyn and Harper caught sight of Elara but did not step forward. They obeyed Gillian’s order and headed straight to Hall Five.
Gillian saw the bright smiles on every female’s face and knew they had all aced the written exam.
She then turned back to Elara. “Ms. Locke, let’s go.”
“Alright.”
“Elara? Is that really you?”
Just then, a fluffy pink figure darted out of the metal exam room right then. It let out a small huff as it passed Gillian, then trotted briskly over to Elara’s feet.
Elara recognized Tristan’s voice at once. She crouched down and stroked the pink fox’s head. “What trouble have you gotten into this time? You even had to use your reversion agent.”
Sylas walked out right behind the fox. His face lit up with excitement at the sight of Elara.
Still, he did not rush over to greet her. He walked straight to Gillian and reported the exam results. “Captain Sterling, all candidates passed with outstanding scores.”
Gillian nodded. “That’s great. If they pass this afternoon’s practical assessment, they can start their official internship tomorrow.”
Gillian bent down to pick up the luggage at Elara’s feet, but Sylas beat her to it. “Let me handle this, Captain Sterling.”
Gillian did not insist and continued guiding Elara.
“I’ve reviewed your arrival notice. I ran into an emergency mission this morning, and the legion failed to forward the message to me. That was an oversight on my part.
“The legion has already prepared your dormitories. I’ll take you to the cleric quarters now.”
She had finished all the check-in arrangements during those five minutes of waiting.
Still, she found it suspicious that no one had notified her of Elara’s scheduled arrival.
“Hand the luggage to me, Sylas. Male personnel are not permitted in the cleric dormitory zone.”
Elara reached out and took her luggage from Sylas, her tone neutral the entire time.
“Understood.”
