Chapter 131 Coincidence
Could all of this really be a coincidence?

Everyone knew no cleric from the Elemental Cities would volunteer to come here and risk their lives.
Either Gillian was lying to get those females to stay here, or the 9th Legion harmed them!
Gillian had no intention of explaining the truth to anyone.
Why should she answer every question they threw at her?
The gentle smile on her face faded. She was about to handle the matter strictly by protocol when a cold voice cut through the air.
“Everyone, settle down first. You’ve all been traveling on a spacecraft for ages. Are you not tired?”
Elara placed her luggage inside her room and closed the door again.
She walked over to Gillian’s side and took the lead toward the second floor. “Stop whining over such trivial matters. Do you really want to make a fool of yourselves?”
Elara stepped into the elevator, her sharp gaze sweeping over the stunned clerics standing outside, especially Gillian.
She pressed her lips together, and her aura turned icy cold in an instant. Visible cold air swirled around the elevator.
Gillian watched sharp, tangible frost spread from under Elara’s feet, rolling outward like gentle waves and freezing intricate ice patterns across the floor.
She was slightly shocked.
It was ice ability.
Elara was also a dual-affinity cleric. Unlike Gillian’s purification ability, Elara’s secondary psionic talent was ice manipulation.
Were dual-affinity clerics this common now?
Dense frost spread like a tight spiderweb, quickly creeping toward every cleric’s feet.
Unnoticed by Gillian, the clerics behind her all flinched back in fear, fully aware of how deadly this ice power could be.
After releasing the frost, Elara noticed Gillian standing perfectly still without the slightest reaction.
Her lips pressed into a tighter line, and her expression turned colder than ice itself.
The moment Elara’s demeanor darkened, the frost on the ground thickened drastically. Thick ice crystals bloomed across the floor, and the metal elevator creaked faintly under the extreme low temperature, on/3

the verge of freezing solid.
“What’s wrong? You don’t want to step in?”
The elevator would break down completely if the temperature dropped any further.

Gillian lifted her feet calmly. Sharp cracking sounds echoed as ice shattered under her steps. The clerics behind her were utterly stunned.
This was level 4 ice manipulation. How were Gillian’s feet not frozen to the ground?
These clerics had held a dismissive attitude toward Gillian earlier, but their expressions turned serious in an instant.
Only a level 4 cleric could withstand Elara’s level 4 ice power. The 9th Legion hid incredible talents, far more formidable than they had imagined.
Gillian stepped fully into the elevator. Her psionic power formed countless tiny golden spikes on the soles of her shoes, letting her stand steadily on the slippery, icy surface as if on flat ground.
“Ms. Locke, are you coming up to the second floor with us?”
“Yes. I think you could use some help.”
Gillian felt Elara had been observing her a moment ago, and now she was certain of it.
Gillian wondered if it was her illusion, but after she entered the elevator, Elara’s gaze toward her softened noticeably.
Elara lifted her indifferent eyes and glanced at the other clerics.
“Are you all going to stand there frozen? Do I need to invite you inside one by one?”
“Ms. Locke, the entire floor is frozen solid. How are we supposed to get in?”
The speaking cleric’s voice grew smaller and smaller until it vanished completely under Elara’s sharp gaze.
Before coming here, these clerics had looked down on Elara for being stationed in the Outer Planet. They had even teamed up to provoke her.
Back then, Elara had acted docile and gentle, swallowing every provocation without retaliation.
But the night after their spacecraft departed the Capital Planet, she had trapped all of them inside their sleeping pods in ice. They had remained frozen stiff throughout the half-month interstellar voyage.
They had only thawed out that day, leaving them trembling with fear at the mere sight of her frost aura.
“If Captain Sterling can walk in without trouble, so can you. If you refuse to step inside, I can make sure you never get the chance to enter at all.”
One cleric opened her mouth to argue, but Elara’s cold tone carried unshakable authority.
