“That will not be needed at all.”

Sylas smiled softly. He placed the two blood samples into the medical tester for kinship tests right before Gillian’s eyes.

“The official reports will be ready in four hours.”

“Sylas, can this small device deliver accurate results?”

Gillian felt uneasy. The compact tester was even smaller than a watermelon and looked no different from/a

toy.

She still had lingering worries from past issues with isolation soil.

“It works perfectly fine. The commander bought these devices at a high price from Capital Planet. There are only three units in total, and none have ever produced wrong results.”

Sylas had run countless tests with it and never met any errors.

“Can I move this machine to my private office?”

Gillian frowned slightly. Sylas quickly noticed how tense she was.

“Two staff members must operate the test together and keep official records on file.”

He pointed at the built-in recording camera. “Rest assured, the whole process is fully monitored and documented. No one can alter any results.”

“Arrange two trusted staff to oversee the process and move this machine to my office.”

Gillian had to resume medical consultations in the afternoon, so she could not stay and watch all the time herself.

“You hold the highest authority as chief medical officer. Your words stand final.”

Gillian nodded in satisfaction. “You learn fast, Captain Moore. You have great potential ahead.”

He fell into deep thought, wondering whose sample this was that she valued so highly.

Sylas lowered his eyes and spoke in a modest tone. “I dare not take such praise.”

Just then, a familiar voice came from behind Gillian.

“Captain Sterling, shall we open registration now?”

Harper’s eyes lit up. The suspended consultation service had stayed marked offline for half an hour. She saw the system notice that Gillian had returned to work.

She was hesitating whether to reopen the service when she caught sight of Gillian in person.

Harper stood by the registration counter and looked at her with bright joy.

“Harper, please help open the consultation channel. Thank you.”

“You are welcome, Captain Sterling.”

Harper smiled warmly and activated Gillian’s service access at once.

Instant reminders popped up on the large metal screen on the wall.

Many beastmen who had booked appointments before got the alerts and hurried over.

Harper was utterly stunned. Registration slots filled up in almost no time, reaching over three hundred entries in total.

She had never thought Gillian would face such a heavy daily workload.

The hall stretched far into sight, filled with busy crowds. All medical staff in uniform kept rushing about

nonstop.

Gillian tried to spot the other twenty-nine female trainees among the crowd, yet it was nearly impossible. Seeing Harper full of energy, Gillian felt relieved and blinked gently. “Keep pushing forward.”

“We will do our best.”

Harper wore a calm, soft smile. Her current life was far more peaceful than the dark days when she barely scraped by.

Busy daily work filled her schedule and helped her leave many painful memories behind.

Gillian’s wrist terminal vibrated again as new consultation requests kept pouring in. She nodded to take her leave and headed straight for her office.

Sylas carried the kinship tester and glanced at Harper. “You all perform well. Keep up the good work this afternoon.”

“Thank you, Captain Moore.”

After the two left, Harper unconsciously touched her own wrist terminal. She had cut off contact with her family for two whole years.

During her hardest and darkest days, she had hidden her father’s identity information in secret. Those cruel members of the Grayson family had threatened her repeatedly. They warned that any leaked news would bring death to both her and all her family members.

Now that she had finally regained freedom, she still dared not reach out and reconnect with her father. Deep fear lingered in her heart all the time.

She worried her parents might look down on her current situation.

“Are you intern medic Harper?”

A half-naked beastman leaned forward to check the temporary name tag in front of her.

His rough voice pulled her back from scattered thoughts.

“Has Captain Sterling resumed consultations officially?”
