Chapter 148 Merrick Flees in Panic

Chapter 148 Merrick Flees in Panic

Elára looked at Merrick’s retreating figure and felt pleased.

A faint smile spread across her cold-looking face.

She stroked the back of the pink fox gently with her fair fingers, like soothing a small cat.

“Tristan, what do you think of Gillian?”

Tristan enjoyed the gentle touch. He lay comfortably and let out soft breaths.

He hesitated for a moment after hearing the question.

He fell into thought with his eyes and finally spoke. “She is much like you.”

Elara was not surprised by his reply and asked again. “Do you have a fondness for her?”

“I do not…”

The pink fox tried to deny it stubbornly, yet Elara pinched his neck at once.

“Do not answer in such haste. Your rash temper will get you into trouble sooner or later. Lucian sent you to stay beside Gillian to temper your nature. I see no progress in you these days.”

“Speak properly, Elara. Pinching my neck is rude.”

Elara loosened her hold when he turned serious.

What did she mean?

Tristan tidied his fur with small paws and stared at her in confusion.

He knew clearly that Gillian was already Merrick’s partner.

He would never cross such a line.

Elara spoke in a soft, persuasive tone as if reading his mind.

“Females on Outer Planet can have two official beastmates. Most females living in the wasteland also keep several lovers. This rule applies to you, too.”

She paused and glanced toward Sylas.

Sylas tensed up instantly after staying lost in thought all this time.

Elara smiled at the serpent beastman whose looks were no less striking than Merrick’s. “The same goes for you.”

Sylas kept silent and acted as if he heard nothing.

Elara raised her brows. She did not expect him to stay quiet this time.

She realized Gillian easily drew affection from others.

Tristan felt confused about her intention to find more beastmates for Gillian.

“Do

you have feelings for Merrick, Elara? You fail to win his heart, so you want us to take Gillian away and take his place?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Elara held his fox head and rubbed it gently.

“Do not make random guesses. Merrick has too many schemes. Only those simple-minded will fall for

him.”

She thought Gillian was too naive to be fully controlled by Merrick.

Tristan and Sylas were shocked to know Elara held no affection for Merrick.

They wondered if she only meant to annoy Merrick.

“You may ignore my words if you care nothing for Gillian. If you do, go fight for her. It is never impossible to win her over from Merrick.”

She took out a silver necklace with a badge and put it on his paw.

“Go ask your father if he once made an agreement with Lawrence to send one son to marry into the Sterling family.”

Tristan stared at the badge on his wrist and flew into a rage at once.

He was greatly shocked. His father had never mentioned such a deal.

Elara stared at Tristan in daze, then looked up at Sylas. This serpent beastman had a special physical structure. He could take good care of Gillian and make her live comfortably.

“Captain Moore, there are flaws in the primal core partners, aren’t there?”

Sylas did not catch what Elara had said to Tristan just now, yet he replied to her anyway.

“They can form another bond.”

Triple and quadruple core bonds were common knowledge across Capital Planet.

“Perfect.”

Elara never wanted Gillian to end up like her and give her heart to a single male.

If that male chose to leave. Gillian would suffer terribly. The stubborn young one might even lose her life.
