Chapter 165 Vanished
Chapter 165 Vanished
“Are you serious, throwing yourself onto my blade? Those are bandits? Yeah, and I’m Santa Claus.
“Holy hell! Captain Sterling, where are you? We’re here to get you out!”

“These little vixens… I could skewer two of them on one blade. They’ve got the nerve to slander our commander? Yeah, they’re begging to die.”
Every blade strike from the beastmen landed clean and final.
The skewered serpents dissolved into pure white light and vanished.
These pretenders had earned their deaths. Of all the people to slander, they had picked their own commander. That was suicide.
Kill notifications kept pinging across their wrist terminals, and the soldiers got more pumped with every
one.
⚫ “Loot drop! This is just like grinding mobs in real life!”
“Commander, what are these spirit stones? They’re so interesting!”
“These weird things aren’t even people. Let’s go skewer some more for kicks.”
“C’mere, c’mere, come play in my arms for a bit, sweetheart…”
The black serpents still watching from the shadows hadn’t expected the beastmen to be this unhinged. The moment they revealed their forms, they scattered and ran in every direction.
Fucking hell, the old hands in the 9th Legion killed with no mercy at all.
“White Griffin, how do we get out of this arena?”
Merrick was burning to get back to Gillian and had zero patience left for this place.
“Wipe them all out and this system can finish consuming the opposing one. Last time’s data was incomplete. Please continue, Owner.”
Merrick gave a small wave of his hand, and his order lit up on every soldier’s wrist terminal.
“Wipe them all out!”
One by one, the remaining black serpents got hunted down and skewered through.
Any beastman not wearing 9th Legion uniform ended up dead.
As soon as the last serpent fell, the world around them shimmered and reset, and the entire squad reappeared in front of Winterhush’s main entrance.
The White Griffin congratulated Merrick’s squad on the victory, swallowed up the rest of the opposing

system’s data, and slipped back into dormancy.
As squad leader, Merrick took the White Griffin’s reward for himself.
A wet thud broke the silence.

A small black serpent dropped from behind Winterhush’s main signboard, its body split clean in two.
A blue phoenix feather drifted down behind it, but blue flames consumed the feather mid-air before it could reach the ground.
It was the Blue Phoenix System again. Was the player behind all this Phoenixkin, Griffinkin, or had the two clans secretly joined forces?
The whole thing made him sick.
His own mentor was Phoenixkin. If anyone from that clan wanted to come at him, he’d give them a fight to the last breath.
Then there was Griffinkin. Last time, they had hunted Gillian down inside the White Griffin Arena and dragged her in to destroy his system key.
If they couldn’t have it, they’d burn it to the ground. That was the classic Cole family playbook.
Whoever wanted his head, it was either Maddox or his father.
To people like them, the only thing that mattered was profit. His own life was probably worth less than a vein of cryogold. If they wanted to consume his White Griffin so badly, they could try. He’d see who ended up consumed first.
The next time they crossed paths, the gloves would be off.
Merrick reached out and pushed open the real doors of Winterhush.
One glance into the hall showed him every Winterhush guide gone, replaced by an impressive number of black serpents frozen into ice sculptures.
Gillian helped Mabel back to her feet, her eyes shining with awe as she watched Elara.
Elara’s frost shot from her hands like a sprinkler on overdrive, freezing the bottom halves of every black serpent solid to the floor.
Elara had peeled Levi down to nothing.
Elara rose from the pool of blood, Levi’s beast crystal clenched in her fist. She looked like a single winter rose blooming against fresh snow. The moment she spotted Merrick arriving late, she turned and walked straight out.
She vanished through the doorway in seconds.
The instant they passed each other, Merrick tried to block her. Elara froze him in place from head to toe,
