Chapter 232 The Fight Was Only Getting Worse
Gillian shut her eyes. The pool of purge concentrate had drained to the bottom.
The White Griffin’s feed showed the 9th Legion’s main force locked tight at every checkpoint. small flyers hovering in formation.
Lily and Ruby weren’t scared. They hated these bugs with something primal. Like they were born to kill
each other.
The giant white lily and the blood-red spider lily didn’t move. Their roots were woven into a floating platform under Gillian’s feet, keeping her just above the taint liquid without letting it touch her.
Gillian clutched a root-shaped piece of blackstone and ripped the psionic power out of it.
Her white psionic power shot outward so fast it blurred, ring after ring layering into an oval shell around
her.
Where it met the liquid, gray drops of the purge fell onto the white roots below.
Lily and Ruby’s roots flung the extra concentrate out of the pool. The flower beasts waiting outside spread their petals and caught every drop.
The pool emptied under Gillian’s hands. What had started as thick mist was now a steady drip pooling at
the bottom.
The raw output and the control she held over both forces were staggering.
The roots drank till they couldn’t hold more, and the blackstone she’d burned through over five days had driven her straight to level 7.
Lily and Ruby sucked the pool floor dry. Gillian opened her eyes, her arms so heavy she could barely lift them. “Merrick, it’s time.”
Merrick was already at the outermost edge. The White Griffin threw his image onto the display. The ground shook harder. He raised his blade and pointed it at the feed.
“Kids, you’re fed and full. The bugs are here. Wipe them out.”

“Wipe them out!”
Three hundred flowers of every color snapped upright and bloomed. The wave of scent nearly knocked the air out. It rolled fast toward the horizon.
The wind was howling. The smell alone stopped the low-level parasites in their tracks. The higher-level ones crawled straight over them without slowing down
They knew they’d been made. A level 6 parasite burst out of the dirt, and the battle slammed into motion.
“Take them down!”

Chapter 232 The Fight Was Only Getting Worse
The beastmen behind Merrick opened up with laser fire. The weaker parasites charred fast

Then a huge one dragged itself out of a tunnel. Not thin and papery like the level Is. This one had grown a real body under its scales.
Merrick aimed for the exposed flesh beneath the plates. The laser hit and skidded right off.
That did nothing?
The massive thing charged the pool. Sylas dropped his rifle and shifted. His giant snake form whipped forward, slammed his tail into the parasite, coiled around it, and dragged it into the air.
“Captain Sterling!”
“I’m on it.”
Elara rode a small flyer straight up to them and froze the thing solid with a pillar of ice. Her purification psionic power shaped into a blade and shot into its mouth, driving deep, hunting for the primal core.
The scales were impenetrable from the outside. To kill it in one shot, she had to rip it out from the inside.
“Got it.”
Elara’s cold face cracked into a fierce grin. Her psionic power yanked out a red crystal the size of a fist and tucked it into her wrist terminal. “Sylas, we’re splitting this when it’s over.”
