Chapter 88 Blue Phoenix

“Are there any surviving foes left?” said Griffin.

“All sixteen rivals assigned for forced combat have been eliminated. The Blue Phoenix Wrist Terminal System has been fully devoured by me.”

Gillian finally understood the whole situation. Two top-tier wrist terminal systems were locked in condic and she got caught up in their fierce clash.

“If one dies inside this space, will they perish in the real world too?”

“Yes. The physical body in reality will die instantly.”

A wave of fear swept over Gillian. She felt extremely relieved that Asher and Elias were safe and sound.

“Are there any other people staying in this instance?”

“Two more teams are engaged in fierce battles here. Judging by current psionic power standards, your strength ranks at the golden spirit stone. You hold a seventy percent win rate against either team you choose to intercept.

“One of the teams includes your primal core partner. Would you like to send a team invitation? Team members can share trial combat progress and gain spirit stones by defeating enemies together.”

Teaming up with Merrick was exactly what Gillian wanted most. She agreed without hesitation.

“Please enter the target identity ID.”

The request got approved in merely three seconds, and the teammate list popped up right away, including Gillian, Freya, Elias, Asher, Merrick, Lucian, Finn Cooper, and Adrian Campbell.

Once the team was fully formed, Gillian spoke at once. “Show me Merrick’s real-time location. I am going to find him.”

“Location marked. You may head forward now.”

Gillian and Freya stood up and rushed along the path on the left.

After running a short distance, Gillian sensed something was wrong. The two little ones in her arms grew lighter and lighter.

Soon, she could barely feel their physical forms at all.

She halted her steps at once, her voice trembling uncontrollably.

“You already regrew your limbs. Why are you starting to fade away again?”

“Mom, please don’t cry.”

Elias lifted his hand to wipe the tears off Gillian’s cheeks, yet his palm passed straight through her face.

“We need to fall into a deep slumber to recover. We will meet you again soon, Mom.

“You are the most beautiful female in the whole world.”

Right after Elias finished speaking, Asher hurried to chime in. He rubbed his head softly against Gillian chest.

“Stay pretty like this, and remember to look in the mirror every single day.”

Such simple words broke Gillian’s heart completely.

“What am I supposed to do when I miss you two, Asher?”

“We will reunite with you one year from now.”

The two cubs could hold on no longer and vanished quietly from her embrace.

Gillian’s heart turned utterly empty, filled with sharp, piercing sorrow.

She hugged nothing but thin air, as if all those warm moments had never been real.

“Freya, my heart hurts so much.”

She gently rested her hand on her abdomen. She had to leave this place as soon as possible.

Freya stared at her with a solemn look. She had suspected the truth earlier, and now all clues pointed to the fact that those two cubs were indeed Gillian’s children.

“Gillian.” Freya could hardly believe her speculation, yet it struck her as the most reasonable explanation.

She pulled Gillian into a warm hug and comforted her softly.

“We have to get out of here first. Only then can the kids rest well. If you break down now, you might truly lose them forever.”

“Okay.”

Lucian and Finn reached the spot where Gillian had slain the griffins, yet found no sign of her.

They saw the newly updated team notification and let out quiet sighs of relief.

“Who are Elias and Asher listed on the panel?”

Number Two looked utterly confused. He recognized all other names clearly, yet these two were totally unfamiliar to him.

“Never mind their identities for now. We need to find Mrs. Cole first.”

Lucian’s gaze fell on Freya’s name, and his heart skipped a beat. He never expected Freya to be dragged into this dangerous place.

The two immediately hurried off in the same direction Gillian had taken.

Moments later, the names Elias and Asher vanished straight from the team roster.

Both of them realized something terrible must have happened, fearing Gillian had run into another deadly ambush.
