Damian thought for a moment before saying, “I think it’s worth a try. But I’ve heard Holt still hasn’t let go of Laila. There’s no guarantee he’ll side with us.”
“What’s a man’s feelings worth?” Estelle scoffed. “He abandoned Laila once for Maris. If he could do that, then for power, he’ll definitely let go of whatever little sentiment he has left.”
Damian was convinced.
“Alright. I’ll reach out to him in the next few days.”
The next day, at the Silvermoon Pack.
Laila steadied her emotions. At least on the surface, there was no trace of sadness left.
But Pearl, Viola, and the others all knew that there was no way she wasn’t hurting.
Still, there was some good news.
Martha told Laila that her cousin Lillian was pregnant. She was going to be a mother.
Laila was overjoyed and immediately had gifts prepared to be sent over. She originally wanted to visit in person, but when she thought about how Lillian’s mate, Shawn, didn’t welcome her, she gave up on the idea.
She didn’t want to cause tension between them.
After asking Martha to deliver the gifts, Laila thought it over and decided to head to the Frostwind Pack.
She planned to deal with Morgana’s situation.
This time, when she arrived, she could feel that the servants in Samuel’s den looked at her with even more hostility than before.
But she didn’t care. She had no need to win them over.
Samuel was busy at the Justice Department during the day and wasn’t in the den.
She stopped a servant at random and asked, “Where is Princess Morgana?”
“In the back garden,” the servant replied curtly.
Laila didn’t argue. She simply thanked them and headed toward the garden.
Behind her, she heard the servant mutter, “Didn’t she say she didn’t want to be our Luna? Then why does she keep coming back?”
Laila didn’t turn around. She just smiled faintly.
She was indeed in the wrong for running away from the engagement. It was only natural that they resented her.

On the way, she ran into Luke. She had intended to greet him, but he only gave her a cold glance before quickening his pace and
leaving.
Laila just stayed quiet.
Airight then. No one was going to acknowledge her anymore.
She took a deep breath and pulled herself together. About ten minutes later, she found Morgana.
Morgana was sitting by the pond. She had her chin propped on her hand while lost in thought.
She was wondering if Samuel had truly made up his mind about Laila.
Hearing footsteps behind her, she assumed it was Gracie returning with fruit and spoke without turning around. “Tell me, what exactly is so special about that Laila? What kind of magic does she have that makes Samuel so obsessed with her?”
She puffed out her cheeks. “Is it because she has a bigger chest? Samuel can’t be that shallow, right?”
When no response came, Morgana scratched her head. “But if that’s really the case… then what am I supposed to do? Mine is so flat. Damn it.”
Still no answer. Annoyed, Morgana turned around. “Gracie…”
She froze. Laila stood there, smiling at her..
