Martha quickly stepped in to stop her. “Ms. Conlay, you’re not Lillian’s elder. You can’t do this.
“And if word gets out, people might say you’re sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. “Frostfang Pack has already been watching us. If we go now, things will only get worse.” “What, so we’re just going to let Lillian be bullied like this?” Pearl argued.
“That’s not what I mean,” Martha said, trying to explain. “I just think her parents should go in person…”
“But they refuse to go!” Pearl puffed her cheeks in frustration. “And even if they do go, they might not stand their ground!”
Laila nodded in agreement.
Lillian’s parents were both betas, but they were lucky enough to have an Alpha daughter.
Sadly, they never truly raised her well. They only taught her how to be obedient and how to please men. That’s why Lillian grew up soft and timid.
Laila had once advised her to study far away, to leave her parents‘ influence and become her true self.
But Lillian didn’t listen. She chose to follow her parents‘ wishes and attended a girls‘ academy close to home.
After graduation, she focused only on dressing up and finding a mate.
Even so, Laila wouldn’t just abandon her.
Some girls never realize there’s another path. Or they’re too afraid that the other path will be too hard, so they give up before even trying.
But when they truly have no way out, they often discover how strong they really are.
Laila took a deep breath and made her decision. “Prepare the carriage. I have to go.”
Seeing this, Martha stopped trying to block her.

Viola heard about it and hurried over, insisting on going too.
Laila didn’t mind. Viola could fight well–and she was even better at arguing.

They soon arrived at Thunder Pack. Evelyn, worried that Lillian’s parents might come to confront her, hadn’t gone to bed yet. As soon as they arrived, she invited them into a small sitting room.
Laila didn’t bother with small talk. “Evelyn, we’re here to see Lillian.”
Evelyn forced a smile. “Ms. Conlay, Lillian is already asleep.”
“Then we’ll just sit with her. Don’t worry, we won’t disturb her,” Laila said firmly.
Evelyn still tried to stop them. “That might not be appropriate.”
Viola let out a cold snort. “Why not? Are you afraid we’ll see something we’re not supposed to?”
“It’s nothing like that…” Evelyn said quickly.
She knew Viola. She was a decorated female general from the Vagen Battlefield.
“In that case, there’s nothing more to say,” Viola replied. “We’re just visiting our friend. Are you really going to stop us?”
“Of course not.”
Evelyn couldn’t argue anymore and had no choice but to agree.
Viola smiled, then turned to Rockie. “Rockie, lead the way.”
“Got it.”
Rockie immediately turned and led them out.
Laila didn’t waste any time. After a brief goodbye to Evelyn, she followed them.
