Chapter 334 The Broken Necklace
Chapter 334 The Broken Necklace
Third–person POV:
The obsidian necklace shattered across the floor.
Victoria felt like her heart broke along with it.
Holt stood nearby, completely stunned–two hundred thousand, just smashed like that.

After a few minutes, Victoria finally found her voice. “Elara, if you didn’t want it, just give it to me. I can return it. Why did you break it?”
Elara let out a cold laugh. “It’s mine. I can do whatever I want with it. Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?”
Victoria bit her lip and turned to look at Holt. There was still a trace of hope in her eyes, like she was asking for help.
Holt avoided her gaze and said quietly, “When I earn the money, I’ll pay you back.”
Victoria’s voice trembled. “Earn money? How are you going to earn money? Your position has already been suspended by His Majesty.”
As soon as she said it, she saw Holt’s face stiffen.
He stared at her. “You look down on me too? You think I’m living off you? Just because I use your money, I should listen to everything you say, right?”
Victoria realized she had said the wrong thing and quickly shook her head. “No… That’s not what I meant…”
But Holt wasn’t looking at her anymore.
His eyes were full of humiliation. “I’ll pay you back. I’m going to ask my friends to lend me the money.”
Then he turned and walked away.
Victoria stood frozen in place, like she had been nailed there.
She could feel it–something between them had cracked.
Elara was still cursing nearby. “Victoria, my son is going to make it big, just wait. When that time comes,
he’ll buy it for me. forget a 200–thousand–dollar necklace. Even a 500–thousand one,
“Damn it, who wants your dead man’s money anyway? Get lost.”
As she spoke, she kicked at the shattered pieces of the obsidian necklace.
Victoria looked at her, unable to tell if what she felt was anger or sadness.

She crouched down, gathered all the broken pieces into her palm, and carefully walked out while holding them.
By then, the moon had already risen high in the sky. Moonlight fell over the broken obsidian necklace, making it shimmer like rippling water–strangely beautiful.
Victoria looked down, tears falling one drop after another.
She started to regret agreeing to this marriage.
But it was too late now. She was already the Luna of the Ironclaw Pack, and King Vaughn personally had ordered this marriage. If she wanted to leave, it wouldn’t be that easy.
When she returned to the bedroom, she placed the broken necklace on the table and sat there in silence, crying.
Suddenly, she felt something soft brush against her feet.
Looking down, she saw the two Cottontails had come over. They were rubbing against her legs, their fluffy fur warm and soft.
Victoria’s tears only fell harder.
She bent down and picked them up, holding them tightly in her arms, just like she had once held Terrence.
If Terrence hadn’t died back then, everything would’ve been different.
That thought came back into her mind again.
Then she froze. Suddenly, she remembered how Laila had asked her earlier if she liked Cottontails.
Why?
Did Laila know something?
Viola also felt it was strange.
“Laila, why did you suddenly ask Victoria if she likes Cottontails? That was so weird.”
She tilted her head and looked at Laila.
Laila pressed her lips together. After they got home and made sure no one else was around, she finally explained to Viola, “I asked her because I was trying to confirm someone’s identity.”
