Chapter 395 Argument
Third–person POV:
Victoria added, “Our mate bond broke back then. That only happens when he dies.”
Her eyes were filled with disbelief. It felt as though a massive stone were crushing her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Eleanor said, “Whether you believe it or not, that’s what your brother’s letter said. He saw Terrence with his own eyes. Poor child. They said he’s completely changed. Who knows what kind of suffering he’s endured all these years?”
“That’s impossible… Impossible..” Victoria muttered, but she still asked, “When is he coming back?” /
“They won’t be returning anytime soon,” Eleanor replied. “One of the men with them, William, is in terrible condition. Apparently, he suffered horribly after being captured. It’s awful. No one knows if he’ll pull through.”
“William? Sara’s mate?” Victoria sucked in a sharp breath. “He’s also alive?”
“Yes. All eight of them survived.” Even Eleanor couldn’t help sighing emotionally. “The Woodses must be overjoyed right now. It’s just a shame you’re already Holt’s Luna. Otherwise, I’d certainly go celebrate with them. Oh, and the Quinns‘ two sons also survived, along with the Zimmers‘ youngest son.”
Victoria suddenly looked up. “Tyler’s mate remarried as well.
Her voice trembled with tears. “So it wasn’t just me who didn’t wait…”

Jillian listened quietly for a moment before finally speaking, “Victoria, we called you back for two reasons. First, we wanted to tell you this before you heard it elsewhere. Second, since you’re already with Holt now, you need to completely sever ties with your past.
“When Terrence died, you said you would never remarry for the rest of your life. That’s why the Woodses gave you Terrence’s death benefit. But now you’ve broken that promise, and Terrence has returned alive. You should return the money to them.”
Victoria’s mind was still in chaos. Hearing Jillian’s words, she instinctively shook her head. “No. Why should I return it? I didn’t do anything wrong. If he wasn’t dead, why didn’t he write to me and tell me to wait for him? Besides, it’s not like I remarried right after he died. I grieved for him for years.”
“You don’t need to pay the money back yourself. We’ll handle it.”
Jillian’s tone sharpened. “But you need to show an attitude. We can’t be the only ones handling this matter.
“What attitude am I supposed to show?” Victoria shot back. “I’m already the Luna of the Ironclaw Pack. I also waited for him for years-”
Jillian’s face darkened immediately. “Enough. Don’t say things like that again. What do you mean you waited for him for years? Less than a month after Terrence was declared dead, you returned to the Blackrock Pack. Were you truly waiting for him all these years? You just never found someone suitable.
