Kevin pulled some gauze from a drawer and wrapped his finger, his tone stiff and off. “It’s fine… Nothing serious. Ms. Conlay, do you think this is enough?”

“That’s enough.” Laila grabbed a sheet of paper and started packing up the herbs. “Add a few more things. I don’t really know much about herbalism, so just pick whatever you think works.”

Kevin took out two bottles. As he handed them over, he suddenly froze. “Ah, sorry. Wrong one.”

He hurriedly put one back, then picked up a small matte ceramic vial and passed it to her. “This one’s a blood tonic. It helps restore strength and blood. The other one was a sleep draught. One drop if you can’t sleep… two is fine too. Before delivery, she needs to build up her strength and blood levels.”

He didn’t meet her eyes as he rattled off the explanation, like he just wanted it over with. Laila took the items anyway, still not fully convinced, and made a mental note to confirm it with Robin later.

By the time she stepped outside, Victoria was already gone.

She didn’t think much of it and headed straight to Thunder Pack.

“I noticed.” Laila narrowed her eyes. A secret between a man and a woman wasn’t hard to guess.

But this felt ridiculous. Last year, Kevin hadn’t even come of age yet.

She took a slow breath. “Forget it. It’s not our business.”

“True.” Nita flicked her tail and dropped it.

It didn’t take long for Laila to reach Thunder Pack.

She was busy most days and rarely came here, but she knew Lillian’s condition well. Rockie and Bex kept her updated.

Lillian had given up on breaking the mate bond with Shawn. She planned to move out with the child after giving birth.

She had told Rockie, and Rockie had passed the message on to Laila.

When Laila arrived, Lillian was overjoyed and came out to greet her, her belly already full and heavy.

Laila slipped her arm around her naturally, her other hand brushing over Lillian’s stomach. “That’s a big belly. You holding up okay?”

“I’m alright. Just can’t sleep well at night,” Lillian said with a smile. “The worst part’s already behind me. Back when I had to stay in bed to keep the pregnancy stable, I couldn’t even get up properly. I was sick of lying there.”

“It’ll get better after you deliver,” Laila said.

Inside the room, Rockie and Bex were sitting in the inner area. When they saw Laila, they greeted her. “You’re here.”

“Yeah. Thanks for taking care of everything these past few days.” Laila smiled.

She handed over the herbs and potions she had gotten from Kevin, explaining they were for the delivery. Rockie took them and locked them away in a cabinet.

Shawn, who used to curse Laila nonstop, went completely silent when he heard she was here. He hid in his study and didn’t dare come out.

After Tiffany left, Shawn had returned to Thunder Pack. Because he was Dominic and Evelyn’s only son, the past issues were quietly dropped once he came back.

But they had made one thing clear. He was not to cause trouble for Lillian again.
