Viola wasn’t happy. She respected Terrence, and she had already gone to the Woodses to meet fric mother and acknowledged her as a godmother.
She let out a cold snort. “In her dreams. Some woman out of nowhere isn’t becoming Terrence’s mate.”
Laila pressed her hand lightly. “Relax. I’ve got it handled.”
Hugo glanced at Viola. “You like him?”
Viola looked at him like he’d lost his mind. “He’s my brother.”
Hugo frowned. “I’ve never heard he had a sister.”
Viola said, “Not by blood.”
“Oh..” Hugo nodded, then turned to Laila. “So, can you tell me your plan now? How are you going to deal with Estelle?”
“Of course.” Laila said, “October 10. Every year on that day, Estelle holds a moon ritual in the den, praying to the Moon Goddess for peace and blessings. A lot of noble ladies attend. That’s when I’ll expose her for what she really is.”
Hugo’s eyes flickered, and he gave a small nod.
After they left, Viola spoke up right away.
“Laila, that man can’t be trusted.” She walked beside her, voice low. “Other than Jasmine, he didn’t tell us anything.
“I don’t get why you told him our plan. He’s definitely going to/report back to Estelle.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Laila’s eyes sharpened. “Because we’re not making our move on October 10. It’s September 28.”
Viola paused, then broke into a grin.
“Got it. You did that on purpose. She’ll think we’re acting on the 10th, so she won’t be on guard on the 28th.” She thought for a second, then asked, “Do we have a plan?”
“No.” Laila said, “We go in directly.”
Viola’s eyes lit up. “A straight assault? I like it. How many people are you sending in?”
Laila shook her head. “A few high–ranking Alphas will go in undercover. The rest… we leave to the patrol guards.”
“During the day?” Viola sounded surprised.
“No. At night.”
Viola let out a breath, then remembered something else. “I need to give Terrence a heads–up about this marriage Caila. Em heading to the Woodses‘ estate.”
“Alright.”

taila nodded and headed home alone.
On the way, her thought kept chreling back to Jasmine.
What were the odds? Chased by Rogues, then conveniently rescued by Estelle?
Something about it felt off.
Maybe those Rogues had been sent by Estelle herself. She was capable of that.

Meanwhile, Terrence had already gone to the Knights to meet Jasmine and returned to the Woodses‘ estate.
He told his mother directly that he didn’t like her.
Lorena sighed. “You’ve met so many she–wolves already. Not a single one you like?”
Terrence said nothing.
Lorena kept going.
She talked about how close she was with Katherine Knight, Hugo’s mother. She said Katherine was trustworthy.
Anyone she recommended couldn’t be wrong.
As for Jasmine, even though her parents had died and she’d been working odd jobs to support herself, she was beautiful and had a good personality.
Right in the middle of her rambling, Viola arrived.
Lorena looked like she’d just found a lifeline and quickly pulled her over, asking her to help persuade him.
Viola paused. “You’ve already met her?”
She asked Terrence a few details, then frowned after hearing the answers. “don’t recommend this match. But you shouldn’t reject it outright either.”
Lorena froze.
Terrence looked over, waiting for her to continue.
Viola had the servants dismissed before lowering her voice.
г
“Jasmine isn’t actually Alpha Hugo’s cousin. The Knights approached Terrence for a reason. So you can’t agree to this, but you also can’t turn it down right away
Lorena’s heart tightened, a hint of hurt crossing her face. “Katherine lied to me? We’ve known each other for over a decade. How could she use my son’s marriage like this?”
Victa said, “Jasmine herself might not be a bad person. She could be in the dark, too. But we need to look into this first Stall for a while, a few weeks at least. Don’t lock anything in, or you’ll end up hurting yourselves. And that girl probably won’t end well
either.”
