He was buying condoms.

Tall, impeccably dressed, and radiating aristocratic elegance, Silas stood before the small display rack, staring at the condoms with intense, scholarly seriousness.

Yvaine was standing right next to him.

Given that both of them were devastatingly attractive, every single customer walking past couldn't help but stare.

Yvaine felt like a criminal caught in the act. Under the burning gaze of the public, she couldn't bring herself to look at Silas, much less the wall of prophylactics. She whipped her head away, staring intensely at a blank wall.

"Baby," Silas suddenly called out.

Yvaine jolted, whipping her head back around out of pure reflex. She stared at him.

Did he... did he just call her that?

Silas looked down at her. "What kind do you prefer?"

His voice was much softer than usual, deliberately pitched low. It was deeply magnetic and impossibly gentle.

Combined with the actual question he was asking, Yvaine's face practically caught fire. She darted a panicked glance at the shelf.

How on earth was she supposed to know? She had never used one before.

Right now, her only goal was to get this over with as fast as humanly possible, before they became a permanent tourist attraction for the rest of the store.

"Whatever is fine," Yvaine whispered, her face burning crimson. "...Just grab whatever you like."

Silas fell silent.

Whatever he liked?

He had never used one either. He had zero clue what his preferred texture or brand was.

Operating on the flawless logic that he needed to test them all to find the superior product, he systematically grabbed one box of every single brand, style, and type on the shelf.

He basically cleared out the entire display.

Yvaine stood frozen.

Was he really that open-minded? He liked every brand? Every texture? Every gimmick?

The cashier stared blankly at Silas, then slowly shifted their gaze to Yvaine.

Yvaine looked away.
