My Drama King Husband (Yvaine and Silas) novel Chapter 11

Silas waited by the car. Seeing Yvaine emerge with her luggage, he walked over and took the suitcase from her hand.

"Thank you," she said.

He met her gaze and offered a brief nod.

After stowing her small suitcase in the trunk, they both got into the car.

Yvaine settled into the passenger seat, but before she could reach for her seatbelt, Silas suddenly leaned across her. She jumped slightly, her breath catching in her throat.

A soft blush crept up her cheeks. Her large eyes were wide with a mix of nerves and anticipation as she stared at him.

Was he really this impatient?

Were they going to kiss right here, right now?

She subconsciously held her breath.

Then, she watched as his hand reached past her to grab the seatbelt.

Yvaine was speechless.

He was just buckling her in?

He could have just said so.

Why did he have to make it feel so incredibly intimate?

Actually, he had to be doing this on purpose, right? Leaning in that close just to help her with a seatbelt, making her think he was going to kiss her, making her flush with nervous energy.

It was a classic move straight out of a romance movie.

Was he learning this stuff from television?

She wasn't some helpless princess or a giant toddler; she knew perfectly well how to buckle her own seatbelt.

As he clicked it into place, the back of his hand brushed against hers. Her face burned redder, but she kept quiet.

Once she was securely fastened, he gave her a deep, lingering look before starting the engine. She silently let out a sigh of relief.

Thanks to that little interlude, neither of them spoke for the rest of the drive.
