My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 170

Chapter 170

Evening had fallen softly over Red moon pack when Amelia finally closed from work. The sky burned with streaks of fading gold as she and Arthur settled into her car. The hum of the engine filled the quiet air before she eased out of the parking lot and onto the main road.

For most of the ride, Arthur couldn’t stop talking. His little voice filled the car with excitement as he rambled about Alpha Aiden-how kind he was, how he’d promised to take him to see than again soon.

Amelia smiled faintly, her grip tightening around the steering wheel. Each word pierced her heart with quiet guilt. She wanted so badly to tell Arthur the truth-that Aiden wasn’t just a kind Alpha, but his real father. But she couldn’t. Not yet. Not when telling him could put both their lives in danger.

By the time the car rolled to a stop in front of their apartment, her chest felt heavy with unspoken words.

They got out together. Cassia locked the car and walked inside, the faint scent of dinner greeting them before they reached the dining room. There, Damien was setting the table, sleeves rolled up, a warm smile spreading across his face when he saw them.

“Uncle Damien!” Arthur squealed, racing across the room.

Damien bent down, laughing softly as he caught him in his arms and lifted him high. “Hey, champ. How was your day?”

“It was great! I spent some time with Ethan!” Arthur beamed, the joy lighting his whole face.

“That’s nice,” Damien said, ruffling his hair. “I got you some new toys. They’re in your room. Go change your clothes and come downstairs for dinner, okay?”

Arthur’s eyes widened in delight. “Thank you, Uncle Damien!” he said before hurrying upstairs, his small feet thudding across the floor.

Once he was gone, Damien turned back to Cassia. Her expression was calm, unreadable.

“I made dinner,” he said gently. “Your favorite.”

She gave him a small,’ polite smile. “I’m not hungry,” she murmured, starting for the stairs-but he moved to block her path.

“Cassia…” His voice softened, full of remorse. “I’m sorry about yesterday. I shouldn’t have said those things. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

She stared at him, her eyes flickering between hurt and restraint For a moment, silence hung heavy between them, filled only by the sound of their heartbeat. Then she sighed quietly and nodded.

“It’s fine. I’m not mad at you anymore,” she said at last.

Relief washed over his face. He smiled faintly, then reached out and drew her into his arms. His hug was firm, desperate almost, as if he was afraid she might disappear if he let go. Cassi hesitated, then relaxed against him, returning the embrace.

When he pulled back, he tried for a lighter tone. “Come on. Let have dinner together.”

He took the bag from her hand and set it aside before pulling of a chair for her. Cassia sat down, her lips curving in a small, grateful smile. Damien placed a plate in front of her-pasta, chicken, and a creamy sauce that filled the air with a delicious aroma.

“It looks good,” she said softly, taking a bite. Her eyes widened slightly. “It tastes even better. I like it.”

Damien smiled, his gaze never leaving her face. “I’m glad.”

She glanced up after a moment and noticed he hadn’t touched is food. “Aren’t you going to eat?”

“I’m already full,” he said quietly. “Just watching you eat is enough.”

She pushed her chair back and stood up.

Damien exhaled slowly, forcing a small smile. “It’s not like anyone can stop you, is it?”

Cassia smiled faintly in return. “Exactly.”

She reached for her bag. “I need to shower and start preparing for tomorrow. When I find my family, my mother will need immediate medical attention, so I have to make arrangements tonight.”

She leaned down and pressed a soft kiss against his cheek. “Thank you for dinner,” she said gently before walking toward the stairs.

He stood there, silent, watching her go.

The sight of her retreating figure made his chest ache. The hop and determination in her voice were genuine-it broke something inside him to know he was lying to her.

But it was for her safety. He told himself that again and again. Casia could be stubborn, reckless even, and he couldn’t risk her getting hurt.

He dragged a shaky hand through his hair and let out a deep sig

Tomorrow, she was going to hate him for what he’d done.

But he could live with her anger.

He couldn’t live with losing her.
