My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 171

Chapter 171

Morning crept in softly, brushing light against the curtains. Cassia stirred awake, energy buzzing through her veins like she’d been waiting for this moment forever. A bright smile spread across her lips as her gaze flickered to the clock – 5:00 a.m.

Today was the day.

She pushed herself out of bed, excitement pumping in her chest. After a quick shower, she dressed neatly, tying her hair into a loose ponytail. Every motion she made was brisk, eager. Her hart thrummed at the thought today, she would find her family.

Her fingers brushed over the locket at her neck as she exhaled, tying to calm the storm of emotion swirling inside her. What will Mom look like? Will she recognize me? She bit her lip and smiled softly at the thought.

When she finally made her way downstairs, she paused midway, surprised to see Damien standing near the counter. Two steaming cups of coffee sat in his hands.

“You’re up?” Cassia asked, her voice carrying a mix of surprise and warmth.

Damien turned, his expression gentle. “Yeah. I know what today means to you, so I thought I’d make sure your morning starts right.” He extended a cup toward her. “Here.”

Cassia hesitated, studying him for a beat too long. Something in her gut twisted, but she pushed it aside. “Coffee, huh?” she said, taking the cup from him with a faint smile.

“Trust me,” Damien said, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “A cup of coffee makes everything better.”

Cassia chuckled under her breath, bringing the cup closer to inhale the aroma different. What did you add to it?”

but then frowned slightly. “This smells…

“Just a herb,” he replied smoothly, eyes darting away for a fraction of a second. “Something to keep you energized through the day.”

“Oh.” She smiled again, taking a small sip. The warmth slid down her throat, spreading comfort through her chest. “Hmm…

not bad.”

“So,” Damien started casually, setting his cup down, “where are you heading this early?”

Cassia took another sip before replying, “To the woods – I need to get the Dawnfire Blossom before sunrise.”

His brows lifted. “What does it look like?”

“It’s a tiny flower that grows along tree roots right after the full moon,” she explained, her eyes glowing as she spoke. “It glows like fire when the first ray of sunlight hits it. It’s rare… and powerful.” She finished the last of her coffee, setting the cup down with satisfaction. “Thanks for this, I really needed it.”

She turned to leave

but suddenly, a wave of dizziness slamme into her. The world tilted. Cassia staggered, gripping the edge of the table, her vision blurring.

Damien rushed forward and caught her before she could fall. “ssial Are you okay?” His voice trembled slightly

She pressed a hand to her forehead, cold sweat forming fast. “I don’t know. I feel… dizzy…” she breathed, blinking rapidly to clear her vision.

“Cassia…” Damien whispered, guilt threading through his tone. held her tighter, his chest tightening painfully.

Her dazed eyes lifted to meet his realization dawning in then sharp and betrayed. “What… what did you add to the coffee?” she asked, her voice cracking weakly.

“She’s not coming,” Aiden cut in, his tone sharp, final.

James stepped forward before things could escalate. “We agreed it’s safer this way, Tracy. We don’t know what’s waiting inside that compound. We can’t take chances.”

Tracy crossed her arms tightly, glaring. “And what about me?”

“You’re not coming either,” James said. “Just give us the exact location. We’ll handle the rest.”

Her lips trembled with frustration. “You can’t go there alone, James! Those people, they kill anything that moves! You could be walking into a trap!”

“We’re not going alone,” Aiden said, his jaw tightening. “I’m bringing my strongest warriors. You don’t have to worry.”

Tracy’s voice softened, though her eyes glistened with emotion, I’m not worried about them,” she whispered and turned to James. “I’m worried about you.”

She stepped closer, placing a hand on James’s arm. “What if they know you’re coming? What if someone tipped them off—”

“They won’t,” Aiden said firmly, though a muscle in his jaw ticke “No one knows about this except me, James, Amelia… and you.” He paused, his gaze narrowing on her. “And I know Amelia wouldn’t betray us. James wouldn’t either. That only leaves…”

Tracy stiffened. “What are you implying?” she snapped, anger fling across her features.

“I didn’t say anything.” Aiden replied coolly. “But if you’re feeling guilty, maybe there’s a reason.”

Her nostrils flared. “How dare you-”

Aiden turned away, his silence cutting sharper than words.

The air in the room thickened, heavy with unspoken suspicion.
