My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 187

Chapter 187

Cassia hurried out of her office, clutching the last vial in her trembling hand. Her heartbeat thundered as she made her way down the hallway toward her mother’s ward, her steps quick, he mind racing. Just as she turned the corner, she saw Damien approaching.

“I’ve got the last vial left,” she said breathlessly, holding it up between them. “I’m going to give it to her now.”

Damien’s gaze softened as it landed on the vial, then on her face He nodded once, a quiet steadiness in his eyes. “I found a bigger apartment for us-a place where your family can stay too I’ll start moving our things and get everything they’ll need so they can finally rest tonight.”

Cassia blinked, warmth cutting through the anxious pounding of her heart. “Thank you. That would be… great.”

He smiled faintly. “Yeah. I’ll be back once I’m done.” He leaned forward and brushed a brief kiss against her cheek before walking past her down the corridor.

As soon as he disappeared around the corner, Cassia turned back her grip tightening on the vial. She exhaled shakily, then pushed open the door to her mother’s ward.

Her father was still there-Beta Greg-sitting faithfully at Evenly s bedside. The moment he looked up and saw her, his weary expression flickered with relief.

“You’re back already,” he said.

“Yes,” Cassia replied, her voice steady though her heart wasn’t. “I be giving her the second dose of the cure. After this, she’ll be fine.”

Beta Greg stood, nodding silently. He stepped back to give her space but kept his eyes fixed on her, worry creasing his face.

Cassia’s hands shook slightly as she placed the vial on the tray and drew the shimmering liquid into the syringe. She hesitated for just a moment-her breath uneven. Then she closed her eyes, inhaled deeply, and steadied her hand. Slowly, she injected the liquid into her mother’s veins.

When it was done, she disposed of the syringe and turned around. Both her father and Gloria were staring at her. Gloria’s gaze darted away quickly, guilt flickering across her face, as if she couldn’t bear to meet Cassia’s eyes.

“I brought some food,” Cassia said softly, breaking the silence. “I get it from the car. And Damien found us a new apartment-we’ll all stay together.”

Beta Greg watched her carefully. He wanted to protest, to insist they stay in their old home, but he knew his daughter too well. Amelia…had always made her own choices. There was no point arguing. He nodded.

“Gloria,” Cassia continued, turning toward her sister, “I brought me clothes for you to change into.”

Gloria swallowed hard and looked at her, eyes glistening. Her voice trembled as she said, “Thank you.”

Cassia smiled faintly, the tension in her shoulders easing for a moment. “Dad, I’ll ask Damien to bring some clothes for you 100″

Beta Greg frowned, confusion flickering in his eyes. “Who’s Dauen?”

“The man who came with me earlier,” Cassia said, a small smile ouching her lips. “He’s my fiance-the man I’m going to marry. I’m sorry I didn’t introduce him earlier. When he return I’ll make sure you both meet properly.”

Her father’s brows lifted slightly. Shock. Then under standing Ten silence. He simply nodded, though a dozen questions lingered behind his eyes.

Cassia turned to leave-but then froze.

A faint sound broke through the stillness. A soft groan… followed by a weak sneeze.

Cassia’s breath caught. She spun around.

Her mother’s fingers twitched. Then, slowly, Evenly’s eyes fluttered open.

For a heartbeat, Cassia couldn’t move. The world around her stilled. The monitors beeped faintly in rhythm with her mother’s pulse…alive, steady.

Her voice broke into sobs. Cassia closed the distance and dropped to her knees beside the bed, tears streaming down her face.

“Mom, it’s me,” she whispered. “I’m alive, I was saved. I’m here.”

Evenly reached out a trembling hand and grasped hers. The moment their skin met, her body went still. The warmth… the

touch…it was real,

Tears burst forth from her eyes. “Amelia… oh my God… it’s really you,” she cried, cupping her daughter’s face. “You’re alive! You’re-how…?” Her words dissolved into a choked sob.

Cassia smiled through her tears. “I’ll tell you everything. Momter. I promise But for now, you need to rest. You’ve been through too much.”

Evenly tried to smile, though her voice trembled. “Why didn’t you send word? Why didn’t you tell us you were alive?”

“I’m sorry, Mom,” Cassia whispered, her voice barely holding together.

Evenly spread her weak arms wide. “Come here, child.”

Cassia leaned forward, collapsing into her mother’s embrace. Evenly’s arms wrapped around her, frail yet warm and full of life. Cassia clung to her as though she might disappear again.

Seven years. Seven endless years without this touch, this scent, this comfort.

She hadn’t realized how much she’d missed her mother’s embrace until this moment.

And now that she had it again-she wasn’t letting go.
