My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 191

Chapter 191

Meanwhile, at the Miller’s mansion, Aiden was pulled out of a deep sleep by the echo of a powerful howl that shook the silence of the night. His eyes snapped open, his heart pounding against his ribs. He sat upright, blinking in confusion, trying to grasp where the sound had come from, and who could have made it.

It wasn’t just any howl. It carried an energy…a dominance…that made his wolf stir restlessly beneath his skin. It felt… familiar. Too familiar.

Before he could process it, his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He grabbed it, and the caller ID flashed James.

“James….” he muttered and answered at once.

“Aiden, Amelia’s mother is dead.. Evelyn is gone,” James said quickly, dropping the words like a stone.

Aiden froze. His lips parted, and for a moment, the air refused to move through his lungs.

“What?” he rasped. “How?!”

He remembered how she had been unconscious when he rescued them but believed the treatments would work… He believed Amelia had everything under control. How could Evelyn be dead now?

“And Amelia?” His voice came out low, rough.

“I think she’s in her office,” James replied quietly.

“I’ll be there now.”

Without another word, Aiden swung his legs off the bed and went straight to the bathroom. The moment he peeled his shirt off, the sharp sting on his arm made him groan. The wound from before had grown worse, the skin around it angry and red. He hissed as he cleaned it with antiseptic, his muscles twitching nder the burn, before wrapping it tightly with a bandage. He couldn’t afford to smell like infection or weakness-not now.

He threw on a black shirt and trousers, grabbed his car keys, and headed for the door. Every step sent a dull ache up his arm, but he ignored it. Pain didn’t matter. Amelia did.

When he reached the ground floor, he pulled the front door open and stepped into the chilly air. Just as he was about to enter his car, headlights swept across the compound. A sleek black car rolled to a stop near the porch.

Aiden’s brows furrowed as he gripped the car door handle. He watched as the back door opened…and his father, Alpha Alaric, stepped out. But what made Aiden’s blood run cold was the woman who followed him.

His mother. Luna Donna.

She smiled as soon as her eyes met his, radiant and warm, like she hadn’t been lying helplessly on the sick bed few days ago

“Aiden,” she called softly, taking a hesitant step forward.

Aiden’s eyes hardened. “What are you doing here?” His voice was that, sharp enough to cut through the air.

“I… I’m better now. Amelia gave me the cure last night. I’m heal. Aiden. I feel whole again.”

Aiden’s expression didn’t shift, though his mind did. Amelia gave her the cure? That meant Evelyn should’ve been cured too… so why had she died?

“Are you not happy to see me, Aiden?” Donna’s voice trembled.

He exhaled, his gaze steady and cold. “If you’d been happy being my mother when I was a child, maybe I would be happy to see you now,”

When they reached the ward, James pushed the door open. Inside, Beta Greg sat at the bedside, his face etched with exhaustion and grief. His daughter clung to him, her sobs quiet but sharp enough to slice through the silence.

“Beta Greg,” Aiden said softly.

Greg looked up, his eyes red and glassy. “I’m… I’m sorry about Ma’am Evelyn,” he whispered, though they all knew it was too late.

Aiden’s throat tightened. He could see the effort Greg made not to cry, holding it all in for his daughter’s sake. Pity flickered in Aiden’s chest, followed quickly by guilt. All this-every ounce of this pain they were feeling now was rooted in his father’s mistakes.

He turned to leave, unwilling to intrude further, when Greg’s voe stopped him.

“Amelia isn’t here,” Greg said, his tone weary. “A nurse mentione she saw her drive off earlier.”

Aiden turned sharply. “Do you know where she went?”

Greg shook his head. “No one does.”

“I’ll find her,” Aiden promised. His voice was firm, a vow, “I’ll bring her back.”

As he reached for the door, it suddenly swung open-and standing there was Damien.

Their eyes locked. Shock flitted across Damien’s face, quickly relaced by anger as his fists clenched.
