My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 214

Meanwhile, Aiden was in his car waiting for Amelia to arrive at the hospital. He checked his wristwatch every passing second, his knee bouncing restlessly. He couldn’t sit still. He climbed out of the car again, pacing back and forth like a man whose chest was tightening from anxiety. His jaw flexed repeatedly, a clear sign he was barely holding himself together.

Just then, a black car rolled into the garage. His heart leaped…only to crash when the door opened and it wasn’t Amelia. It was Dr. Marvin.

“Alpha Aiden… what are you doing in the garage?” Dr. Marvin called the moment he spotted him. His brows drew together in confusion at the sight of Aiden pacing like a trapped beast.

“Dr. Marvin… thank goodness I found you. I mean—” Aiden cleared his throat, forcing calm into his voice, “—I was waiting for you.”

Dr. Marvin hummed, his eyes narrowing slightly as though he could smell the lie on him.

“Is the test result out yet?” Aiden asked, voice tight.

“Yes, it is.” Dr. Marvin paused, adjusted his glasses, then opened his bag. He brought out a sealed envelope and handed it over.

“What does it say?” Aiden asked as he tore it open with trembling fingers.

“It states she didn’t die from an overdose. She was having heart failure before she was admitted. The illness had developed over a long period of time and had eaten deep before any treatment even began…”

Aiden’s eyes flicked between the doctor and the paper in his hand, his chest rising and falling sharply.

“But… something else was found in her system.” Dr. Marvin hesitated, watching Aiden’s face closely.

Aiden lifted his head sharply, waiting.

“We found Bloodthorn Resin in her blood.”

Aiden’s eyes widened instantly. A cold wave shot through his body.

Bloodthorn Resin… A dark red sap that hardened like glass when exposed to air. A drop in a wound could kill a werewolf. It thickens the blood, making healing impossible.

“What?” Aiden breathed, the word ripped out of him.

“In as much as her body was trying to heal after she was given the cure, the Bloodthorn Resin had already been absorbed. The antigens in the cure only accelerated the reaction, causing internal bleeding.”

Aiden’s legs went numb. Someone had poisoned Amelia’s mother. And he knew exactly who could do such a monstrous thing.

His father…Alpha Alaric.

His fist clenched so tight his knuckles turned bone-white. A low growl vibrated from his chest.

“Alpha Aiden?” Dr. Marvin asked softly. “Are you alright?”

Aiden forced a nod. “Thank you for your time, Dr. Marvin. I’m indebted to you.”

Dr. Marvin gave a small smile. “Anytime, Alpha. I’ll head to my office.”

He walked away, leaving Aiden alone with his thoughts and a storm raging inside him.

Aiden got into his car, shutting the door quietly. He stared down at the test report in his hand, his heartbeat drumming against his ribs.

Bloodthorn Resin.

The deadliest of all poisons to wolves.

He exhaled shakily. Amelia hadn’t killed her mother…he knew it, but now he had proof. She was careful with every patient, and this was her own mother. There was no way she could have caused her death.

At least she would know she wasn’t responsible, he thought.

But then… why did his father hate Amelia’s family so deeply? The story he was told never sat right. His father claimed Beta Greg betrayed him by stepping down. But Aiden had always suspected more. Something darker happened between Alpha Alaric and Beta Greg.

Her brows pulled together sharply as frustration heated her blood. She clenched her fists by her sides. She knew how stubborn he was. If she didn’t listen, he would never let her go.

“Fine. What do you want to talk about?” she snapped.

“Not here.”

Her eyes narrowed. “I’m not going anywhere with you.”

“And again,” he repeated slowly, voice deeper, “I’m not giving you a choice.”

Before she could react, he swept her off the ground. She gasped as he hoisted her over his shoulder like she weighed nothing.

“Aiden! Put me down!” she yelled, kicking her legs and pounding on his back. But he didn’t flinch. He didn’t even slow down.

He carried her to his car, opened the door, shoved her inside gently but firmly, and slammed it shut before she could escape.

Amelia’s breath stuttered in her chest, anger radiating off her like heat waves.

Aiden slid into the driver’s seat.

He didn’t look at her.

He just gripped the wheel…

…and drove off at full speed.
