**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 131**
**The Real Reason**
Noah paced back and forth, barely containing his excitement as Chubby flitted about him, small wings buzzing like a miniature helicopter. “Grandpa, you won’t believe it! I saw Dad kiss Oriana!”
A sudden stillness enveloped Noah, his heart racing as disbelief washed over him. “What did you just say?”
Meanwhile, at the Research Center, the door of a sleek Maybach swung open with an elegant swoosh. Grant emerged, flanked by Alaric and Oscar, his features sharp and commanding. He surveyed the towering steel-and-glass edifice before him, a proud smile creeping onto his face.
Micah had tried every trick in the book to obstruct Grant’s collaboration with the center, but his efforts had proven futile.
This time, Micah was powerless to stop him.
“Mr. Holloway, it’s been a few days, and I must say, you look more impressive than ever,” Jett remarked, stepping forward with a polished smile, his words laced with a veneer of respect.
Grant straightened his posture, his fingers tightening around the black-and-gold cane he leaned on. “Jett, I trust we can finally finalize the deal we couldn’t wrap up last time.” His voice held an unmistakable weight of significance.
It hadn’t been long since Grant and his team had been turned away at the door, but now, with a strategic shift and the infusion of new talent, Aurora had transformed into the tech industry’s hottest prospect in Jindiwood, a coveted prize for every major player.
This was a testament to their undeniable brilliance.
Jett’s smile, however, didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Gentlemen, please, come inside.”
As they entered through the grand front passage, they made their way to the glass observation elevator, which whisked them straight up to the conference level.
At that moment, Zephyr stepped out onto the top-floor glass walkway. He glanced down, his sharp gaze locking onto Grant, who was a half-step behind Jett.
The secretary beside him leaned in, his voice low and informative. “Mr. Pike, those are the core founders of Aurora. They’ve shown genuine interest in collaborating with us on the Mountain River Planet model.”
“Since Micah is on leave, Jett will be chairing the meeting,” the secretary added, his tone respectful.
Zephyr nodded, impressed. “So young, yet already so adept. A rare talent indeed.”
An idea sparked in his mind. “Since Micah is absent, could you please push back my next appointment by half an hour? I’ll attend this meeting myself. If we can bring such talent into the center, it would be a significant advantage.”
“Yes, sir,” the secretary replied, bowing his head slightly.
Inside the meeting room, Jett gestured for them to enter, and another group of staff followed closely behind.
“Mr. Holloway, allow me to introduce our director, Zephyr Pike.”
“Mr. Pike, this is Aurora’s lead, Grant Holloway.”
Grant’s eyes lit up with interest as he stepped forward with a calm demeanor, extending his hand for a firm shake with Zephyr.
A few polite compliments were exchanged, and after the customary greetings, both sides took their seats, the atmosphere charged with anticipation.
Jett moved toward the chairing position, but Grant’s voice interjected, calm yet probing. “If I recall correctly, today’s meeting was initially meant to be led by Micah, wasn’t it?”
“Micah, always so reserved, and you kept me in the dark all this time?”
He glanced at the figure lying in Oriana’s bed, his heart brimming with sheer joy.
The storm had finally passed. Morning light flooded the room, and Micah had finally taken the plunge.
And most importantly, he had triumphed.
Noah’s eyes crinkled into happy slits as laughter bubbled up within him.
“No wonder you couldn’t sleep a wink last night. Too excited to close your eyes, huh? It reminds me of when I was courting your grandmother. I couldn’t sleep a single night either—it felt like fire was coursing through my veins. Ah, those long-lost days of youth.”
Micah rolled his eyes, unable to suppress a smile.
“Micah, why are you still lounging there? Now that you two are officially together, when are you bringing Oriana home?” Noah pressed, his curiosity insatiable.
Micah kept his eyes closed, his voice barely above a whisper. “Aren’t you worried she’ll hate you if she finds out you hid your identity just to get close to her?”
Noah stiffened for a fleeting moment before forcing a laugh. “Impossible! Oriana is kind-hearted and understanding. She treats me so well. Just the other day, she gave me all the money she tricked out of that awful woman.”
“Besides, even if she does find out, what of it? I’ve done nothing wrong. As long as I explain myself honestly, Oriana will see the effort I’ve made.”
His expression turned serious for a moment. “But you—”
