My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 135

**He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 135**

**Chapter 135: Cooperation Fails.**

With a decisive stride, Zephyr ushered them out of the conference room, the air thick with tension as he led the way.

Jett, unmistakably displeased, didn’t hold back his irritation. He barked at his assistant, his voice sharp, “See them out.” His tone brooked no argument, a clear dismissal of the situation.

As an afterthought, he added with a sneer, “And for heaven’s sake, no more applications from every Tom, Dick, and Harry. Our Center isn’t a playground for just anyone.” The disdain dripped from his words, leaving no doubt about his feelings.

Grant and his team exited the Center, their faces stormy, shadows of fury clouding their features. They looked as if they had just weathered a tempest, emotions swirling within them.

“Grant, what have we done? We’ve completely offended the Research Center! What will happen to our project now?” one of his team members exclaimed, anxiety lacing his voice. “Grant, why are you locking the door? We haven’t even gotten to the car yet!” The panic was palpable.

With a face like thunder, Grant remained silent, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts. He turned the key in the ignition, the engine roaring to life as he sped away, leaving the chaos behind.

Micah gently patted Chubby, signaling for the little creature to step aside. He turned his gaze back, spotting Noah slumped in the doorway, lost in thought, an expression of blankness etched across his face. A frown creased Micah’s brow.

“You’re still here?” he asked, a hint of annoyance creeping into his tone.

Noah rolled his eyes dramatically. Truly, he thought, how heartless can one be?

Taking a deep breath, Noah managed a smile. “I’m actually glad you’re here. It’s the first time I’ve seen you so full of life.” His voice held a warmth that contrasted with the earlier tension.

“From the very moment you entered this world, you’ve exhibited a remarkable intelligence—yet, it seems, it came with a deficit in emotional and social understanding.” Noah’s voice softened, nostalgia washing over him.

“At merely three months old, you showed no curiosity about your surroundings. The doctors even remarked on your lack of emotional perception, warning that one day you might lose the will to live.” He paused, a shadow flickering across his features.

“I feared that you might end up like your mother, drifting into a deep sleep from which you would never awaken.” His voice trembled slightly, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air.

“But just now, I witnessed you teasing, playing, and reveling in your own cleverness. The joy I saw in you was something I had never encountered before. Micah, I am truly happy—so very happy.”

Noah struggled to contain his emotions, not wanting to break down in front of Micah at this stage of his life.

But the dam broke; his shoulders shook as he buried his face in his hands, soft sobs escaping him.

Micah observed in silence, his heart aching for the man before him.

After a brief moment, he rose, flipped back the blanket, and placed two tissues gently by Noah’s side.

Noah, feeling a rush of gratitude, whispered, “Good boy.”

“Go back and cry. I’m exhausted,” Micah replied, annoyance creeping into his voice.

With a swift motion, he wiped the remnants of Noah’s tears from his face, brows knitted in concern.

“Forget it. I have no expectations from you. The most precious thing still remains Oriana.”

After parting ways, Oriana slipped into a nearby patch of greenery, pulling up Micah’s WhatsApp with a sense of urgency.

Just as she began to type, a hand suddenly clamped over her mouth and nose, yanking her backward.

At the hospital, Luna had just wrapped up a meeting with Cormac when her phone buzzed with a call from Arthur.

With a bright smile, she answered, “Arthur, are you calling to share some good news already?”

Once inside the lab, Luna found herself too busy to spare a moment for Aurora.

Alaric’s charming demeanor flattered her, but deep down, she knew he was firmly in Grant’s pocket—hardly a trustworthy ally.

However, thanks to Arthur’s involvement, she had a reliable source keeping her updated on Grant’s every move.

Arthur’s voice, however, was laden with concern. “No. We didn’t manage to secure the Research Center’s cooperation. Something unexpected came up.”

Before Luna could probe further, Arthur continued, “Luna, Mr. Holloway wasn’t in a good mood. He seemed off during the meeting and then left alone. I tracked his location, and it’s headed toward your school. He might be searching for you.”

Searching for her?

She was at the hospital. Who else could he possibly be looking for?

The answer struck her like a bolt of lightning—painfully obvious.
