Chapter 138 Three Slaps
Tears welled up and fell from Grant’s bloodshot eyes.

Oriana had never seen him so utterly humiliated. Even with his worst injuries, he had always maintained his dignity.
She took a large step back, keeping her distance.
“These are just excuses to ease your conscience,” she said coldly. “You call it for my own good just to feel better about yourself.
“And me? You’ve treated me like a fool. If the roles were reversed, would you even accept it?”
Grant opened his mouth, but no words came out.
Oriana smirked, amused.
Even he couldn’t say he’d accept it, yet he shamelessly assumed she should just obey his plans.
She had wasted enough time already.
Oriana bent down, picked up her phone, and ignored Grant sprawled on the ground as she turned to leave.
“Grant-”
Suddenly, Luna appeared out of nowhere. Seeing Grant humiliated on the ground, a vivid handprint on his face, she gasped in shock.
Her eyes reddened as she reached for Oriana.
“Luna-” Grant called out, but it was useless.
“Oriana! How can you hit Grant? If you’re upset, take it out on me! Grant’s innocent–if you want to hit someone, hit me!”
Luna pretended to tug at Oriana’s wrist to hit herself, but secretly tried to pinch Oriana hard. Unexpectedly, Oriana slapped her.
“You hit me?”
Oriana looked at Luna as if she were a fool, lips twisting into a half–smile. “Weren’t you trying to hit me?”

Luna froze, covering her face, stunned for a long moment.
“You actually dared to hit me?”

Finally regaining her composure, Luna’s faux delicate act vanished, replaced by malice. She raised her hand, claws ready, aiming to scratch Oriana’s face.
Oriana’s brow furrowed, and she reacted faster–grabbing Luna’s raised hand while swinging her other hand.
Smack.
Two slaps, three in total–Oriana had never used this kind of physical force before, yet she felt a surprising sense of satisfaction.
A slap for the scumbag, two for the bitch. Relief.
Seeing Luna glare at her with hatred, Oriana arched an eyebrow. “Want more? You really think you’re stronger than me? Skipped a lot of your practical courses, didn’t you?”
Luna froze.
Oriana wasn’t especially strong, but her emergency–training classes had built her foundational strength. She hadn’t expected Luna to be so weak.
“Grant, she hit me. She actually slapped me twice.”
Luna started crying, burying her face in Grant’s chest, thinking he would defend her frail self.
Grant’s wavered. He stared at her for a long moment before quietly saying,

“I’m sorry. I owe Oriana too much. Luna, can you just bear with it, for me?”
Luna froze.
To bear with it?
Oriana almost laughed.
She looked at them meaningfully, suddenly understanding why Luna had been so smug when she had suffered the same way in the past.
Was this justice?
Oriana smiled faintly and walked away.

Luna’s anger flared; her face burned with pain.
She couldn’t move in protest, forced to watch Oriana leave unscathed.
Tasting the metallic tang of blood inside her mouth, her eyes filled with hatred.
She would not let that bitch off easily.

By the time she had dealt with all this, her lunch break was almost over.
Thinking of the afternoon’s workload, Oriana had no time to find Micah.
She took a short rest, then, when the alarm rang, washed her face and headed to the hospital. Yesterday, William and Cormac had argued and left in a huff. Today, during the consultation, they ran into each other again, avoiding eye contact and keeping their distance.
Soon, Luna and the others observing the session also entered the consultation room.
The moment Luna spotted Oriana, her gaze seemed to pierce like blood hooks, flying toward her with deadly intent.
Oriana ignored her, lowering her head to continue sorting the patient reports handed over by the nurses, fully aware of who harbored such deep hatred.
The undercurrents of tension fell harmlessly like cotton, while Luna’s anger made her chest ache.
After Oriana left, Luna demanded to know what had happened from Grant. He said nothing, silently sinking into self–punishment and regret. Ignoring appearances, he limped away, leaving her behind.
Luna nearly lost her mind.
But before getting the full story, she held back, planning to ask Arthur instead.
At that moment, Leo and James came in. James snorted and went straight in, while Leo frowned, concerned. “Luna, what happened to your face? Should I get you some allergy medicine?”
Over the next hour, Luna’s face swelled significantly.
The fingerprint marks had blurred into an unrecognizable patch. A layer of makeup only
