My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 149

**Chapter 149: Luna’s Fury**

The minor incident that had occurred earlier did little to dampen Oriana’s spirits as she sat down for the meal. In fact, her mood was buoyant, a bright contrast to the chaos that had just unfolded.

After washing their hands at the public sinks outside, she and Micah made their way back to the table. The aroma of the dishes wafted through the air, and soon enough, they were served steaming bowls of fish soup. The broth was rich, infused with tantalizing spices, and the fish itself was tender and succulent. With practiced ease, Oriana deftly navigated the delicate bones, her fingers moving in smooth, swift motions.

“This is absolutely delicious!” she exclaimed, looking over at Micah, her eyes sparkling with delight.

“Thanks,” he replied, taking a bite, though a hint of bittersweet regret lingered at the corner of his mouth. “I should have taken care of this myself.”

Oriana chuckled softly, a teasing glint in her eye. “You might be good at many things, but fish bones? That’s a job I’ll gladly handle. All those professional classes I took weren’t for nothing—I can pick bones like a pro.”

Micah smiled at her, the warmth in his gaze revealing his admiration for her skills.

“By the way,” Oriana continued, her curiosity piqued, “how did you manage to kick so accurately just now? Kieran didn’t even try to stop you.”

“I didn’t really think about it,” Micah admitted, chewing thoughtfully on the fish she had served him. “The kick just sort of happened. Guess I got lucky.”

For a brief moment, Oriana froze in surprise—he had executed that kick without aiming? That was quite impressive.

Micah’s expression shifted slightly as he added a gentle warning, “Just remember, don’t take matters into your own hands next time.”

Oriana nodded, her teasing smile still in place. “I know, I thought it through. I just saw that the girl was young and confused, and I couldn’t bear to let her go astray.”

“Sometimes, a helping hand can change the course of things,” Micah acknowledged, his voice steady. He understood that Oriana had her own decisions to make; his role was to support her quietly from the sidelines.

After they finished their meal, they took a leisurely stroll, picking up some everyday items for Noah before heading back. Each step felt light, the earlier tension dissipating with every shared glance and soft laugh.

Meanwhile, Kieran had taken Henley to the police station; after filing the report, he had left, his mind preoccupied with the events of the day.

Soon after, Luna stormed into the police station, her fury palpable as she arrived to post Henley’s bail.

As they emerged from the station, Henley couldn’t help but grumble at Luna for what he perceived as her slowness, pushing her temper to the brink.

“Henley, that credit card wasn’t meant for you to pull this kind of nonsense! Were you trying to get me killed?” Luna’s voice was sharp, her anger bubbling over. The card, a gift from Ethan, had barely seen any use in her hands. She would never have lent it to Henley if not for his insatiable greed, which had demanded money almost immediately. She hadn’t expected it to land her in such serious trouble.

The next morning

After a hearty breakfast, Oriana and Micah set off together for Caldwell Manor, their spirits high as they embarked on the journey.

The estate was located in the southern part of Jindiwood. A decade ago, the land had caught the eye of a foreign developer, but the Caldwell family had taken the initiative to develop it into a natural wetland park. They had added numerous supporting facilities, transforming it into the most serene retreat in all of Jindiwood.

Noah had taken things a step further, developing a top-tier luxury community named Jindiwood Garden around Caldwell Manor. He even expanded and renovated the manor itself, inadvertently placing it at the heart of this affluent area.

Oriana had heard whispers of Jindiwood Garden from Lily. She knew it featured a sprawling thirty-acre manmade lake, with elegant villas lining the shores. The environment was stunningly beautiful and secluded; mere wealth wouldn’t suffice to secure a spot there.

As they drove into the community, the scenery transformed dramatically. Four-lane roads stretched out in both directions, flanked by rare plants that Oriana had only seen at the lavish Sterling family banquets. Peacocks and deer roamed freely nearby, creating a prime ecological setting that felt almost otherworldly.

The car wound its way deeper into the community. After turning onto a side road, they passed through another checkpoint and continued on for roughly 328 feet. Suddenly, the majestic black-and-gold gate of Caldwell Manor loomed before her, a sight that filled Oriana with a sense of awe.
