**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen 159**
**Chapter 159: Fury**
Luna cast a glance filled with regret at Oriana, whose expression was a mask of inscrutability, and then at Lily, whose face had turned a furious shade of crimson. “I truly apologize,” she spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper, “but I must ask you to dine elsewhere today. I promise, next time, I’ll personally escort you in, alright?”
Lily was seething with rage, her breath coming in sharp, quick bursts.
Yet, deep down, Lily knew she wasn’t the type to confront anyone head-on. If only Zara had been present; she would have unleashed a torrent of curses that could send the woman into hiding for good.
“Forget it,” she muttered bitterly, her glare sharp enough to cut glass. “We’re leaving. I swear, I’ll never set foot in this ridiculous place again!”
Just the sight of Luna’s saccharine smile made her stomach churn.
Nyla crossed her arms tightly, the sound of her tongue clicking in disapproval. “Dr. Sterling, your generosity is misplaced. Some people simply won’t recognize your kindness; they’ll assume you’re just putting on a show.”
Even a cornered rabbit can lash out in self-defense. Lily’s hands shook as she clenched her fists, her voice rising in indignation. “Who the hell are you talking about?”
Oriana stepped closer, instinctively shielding the trembling Lily behind her, her clear, unwavering gaze locking onto Nyla’s mocking expression.
“You really want me to spell it out for you? Be careful—you might just end up slapping yourself in the face later.”
That calm, piercing look made both Nyla and Luna halt for a moment—then they erupted into laughter.
“How naïve,” Nyla jeered, shaking her head dismissively. “What else can I say? Just an ordinary girl.”
Luna chuckled, her tone dripping with condescension as if she were explaining something to a child. “Oriana, you might not be aware, but the head chef of Aurora House—Chef Dessin—was Arthur’s mentor. He gifted Arthur a membership card even before the restaurant opened its doors. That’s why we can enjoy dining here whenever we wish. As for you two?”
Her lips curled into a polished smile, one that could charm the birds from the trees. “Maybe next time. Who knows, perhaps one day you’ll find yourselves among the chosen ones as well.”
“Alright, Dr. Sterling,” Nyla snapped, her impatience bubbling over. “Let’s not waste our time with them.” She shot a disdainful glare at Oriana before striding purposefully toward the front desk.
Luna shrugged, her demeanor light and confident as she followed, each step echoing with the envy-laden gazes of onlookers.
With a graceful smile, she presented the membership card. “Table for two, please.”
The manager glanced at the card, then at her, nodding politely while checking his watch. “Please hold on for a moment, ladies.”
Nyla’s frown deepened. “Wait? For what? We’re the ones who should be dining here.”
“The restaurant prioritizes chosen ones,” the manager explained calmly, his tone even. “Guests with membership cards may only dine here if no chosen one arrives before the end of lunch service.”
“You mean we have to wait until after two?” Nyla’s voice rose in disbelief, incredulity lacing her words.
“That is correct,” he replied, unfazed.
Luna’s smile began to falter, the cracks in her composure becoming evident. “Could I perhaps speak with Chef Dessin? Or maybe you could let him know we’re close friends of his student, Arthur—”
The thought was absurd—but, somehow, it felt like a puzzle piece falling into place.
She shook her head, dismissing the notion. She was overthinking this.
Before she could delve deeper into her thoughts, the manager was ushering them forward, and Lily was practically dragging her along.
“Come on, let’s go see what they have inside!”
Oriana sighed, half-laughing, “Alright, alright, I’m coming.”
As they passed through the entrance, they caught sight of Luna and Nyla—both standing rigidly, their faces darkened with fury.
Lily couldn’t resist the urge to taunt them. She flashed a cheeky grin, mimicking Luna’s earlier condescending tone. “You two came all this way—why not join us?”
Then, covering her mouth in mock realization, she added, “Oh, wait. You’ve got important matters to discuss, right? Guess we shouldn’t eavesdrop. Until next time!”
It seemed Lily had genuinely tapped into her anger and was ready to fight back.
Oriana merely smiled faintly, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
The sight of them infuriated Nyla and Luna even more.
Nyla’s rage was instantaneous. She shot daggers at them, snapping at Luna, “Dr. Sterling, next time keep your so-called kindness to yourself!”
