My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 234

**Chapter 234: Sparks and Silence**

Oriana surveyed her surroundings, her eyes wide with appreciation. “Wow, it’s incredibly clean here. It’s like they expect you to show up at any moment, keeping everything pristine just in case,” she remarked, a genuine smile brightening her face.

Deep down, she felt a wave of happiness for Micah. It was inspiring to see how he had accomplished so much in life, particularly given the challenges he faced. His resilience was admirable. Yet, there was also a tinge of envy as she considered his fortunate circumstances—a supportive work environment, colleagues who respected him, and leaders who genuinely admired his capabilities. Micah was indeed fortunate.

He gestured for her to take a seat at his desk, and as he did, Oriana’s excitement seemed to radiate from her. Micah couldn’t help but feel a warm glow in his chest; the sharpness of his usually defined features softened as he observed her enthusiasm.

“Are you feeling tired? Do you want to take a break? There’s a rest room in the back,” he offered, his voice gentle and inviting.

Curiosity piqued, Oriana stood up and wandered toward the back of the office. “Did you ever use this space to rest when work became overwhelming?” she inquired, peeking into the small room.

The resting area was unpretentious—a simple bed and a small table, but it held a sense of solace. She sat down on the bed and inhaled deeply, catching the faint trace of Micah’s scent still lingering in the air. It was a unique aroma, one she could recognize anywhere.

“Pretty much,” Micah replied, his voice tinged with nostalgia. “When I first started working on projects, it was chaotic—day and night blended together into a blur. Going home felt like a hassle, so I just opted to stay here.”

As he spoke, Oriana could see the memories reflected in his eyes. “Later, once things settled down and I had a reliable team to handle follow-ups, I didn’t need to come in as often. I could manage everything remotely from the comfort of my home.”

“Oh, I assumed you were never really the type to show up at the office regularly from the very beginning,” she said, a teasing lilt in her voice.

Recalling the various departments Micah had introduced her to earlier, along with the specially designed equipment crafted for visually impaired users, it became evident that the company had made all the necessary arrangements for him to work efficiently at any time.

“Get some rest,” he urged, concern lacing his tone. “After everything that happened yesterday, you’ve barely had eight hours of sleep.”

While Oriana was lost in her thoughts, Micah settled beside her, his hand gently rubbing her shoulder as he encouraged her to lie down.

She playfully grasped his hand, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Aren’t we supposed to go shopping? Remember that?”

In an instant, the man who had been so animated moments before had transformed into a tranquil presence. “We’ll nap for an hour, grab some dinner, and then hit the shops. I’ll even give your legs a massage later. Now, close your eyes and get some sleep.”

The idea of a brief nap sounded delightful to Oriana, and she smiled, surrendering to his suggestion as she obediently shut her eyes.

Micah moved to the foot of the bed, gently lifting one of her legs. He began to knead it with just the right amount of pressure, his touch both soothing and reassuring.

Before long, Oriana found herself drifting off into a peaceful slumber.

Weston and Emma exchanged bewildered glances, astonished by the hostility directed at Oriana. They hadn’t anticipated such a sour turn in the family’s feelings toward her.

“Bramwell, come on. Oriana grew up right before your eyes. She may not be your biological daughter, but it shouldn’t have come to this,” Weston implored, his voice filled with concern.

“Ha! She’s the one who thinks she’s outgrown us,” Bramwell scoffed. “Apparently, the Sterling family isn’t even good enough for her anymore.”

Evelyn chimed in awkwardly, “You both probably didn’t know, but Oriana severed ties with our family before leaving for Jindiwood. At first, I was worried, but… it seems she didn’t care about us at all.”

“Bramwell went to Jindiwood a while back and discovered she rushed into a random marriage. She married the wrong person, had a rough time, and to top it off, her academic situation was a mess. Bramwell even reached out to a professor friend at Jindiwood University for help, and what happened? She didn’t appreciate it at all and ended up costing Bramwell a connection we had worked for years to build. You tell me—how could he not be angry?”

Evelyn shook her head, letting out a series of frustrated sighs. The transformation of the once sweet and obedient Oriana into someone so rebellious and cold was heartbreaking for their entire family.

Owen, who had been silent, seemed to want to speak but struggled to find the words. Eventually, he turned away, sulking in silence, clearly affected by the situation.

Weston and Emma exchanged surprised looks after hearing the unfolding drama.

“Married the wrong guy? Really? I thought Oriana had married well,” Weston remarked, bewildered by the turn of events.
