Kai looked exhausted. After reading Leo’s detailed account in the group chat about Luna plagiarizing Oriana, repeatedly lying, and then hysterically blaming Oriana after being exposed, he had been distracted all day.

Weary from the day’s events, Kai had little patience for Bramwell’s forced smile.

“What really happened with Luna? You’re her father, aren’t you concerned? How could you not stand up

for her when she was being treated like that in front of everyone?”

Bramwell’s smile froze. He barely suppressed the urge to curse.

This young punk, barely an adult, dares to lecture me? No greeting, just accusations.

He’s just an entertainer trading on his looks. What gives him the right?

Remembering his purpose, Bramwell held his temper, his smile not reaching his eyes. “Luna made a foolish mistake and kept our whole family in the dark! This is serious. Mr. Flint is furious. If we truly care for her, she needs to face the consequences herself now. We can find a way to help her later.”

Kai frowned, displeased. “Wait for what? It’s not the end of the world. Luna is talented and capable. One mistake doesn’t erase all her hard work. And Leo too… None of you can protect her properly!

“It’s late, Luna is probably asleep. I’ll ask her tomorrow. If she doesn’t want to stay Jindiwood, she can study abroad. I’ll support her!”

Bramwell was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Kai to be so protective of Luna, even more so than Leo and the others. Was it possible, as Evelyn had guessed, that they were all in love with her?

“What are you talking about?” Kai looked at him, baffled. “I see Luna as a little sister!”

After a long day, Kai had little patience for Bramwell’s prying. He took a sip of sparkling water from the table, his tone impatient. “Our connection to Luna… it’s not something an outsider would understand.”

Bramwell’s face tightened. “I’m her father. I’m hardly an outsider.”

Kai shot him a meaningful look. “To us, you are.”

“Fine, I’ll tell you,” Kai said, putting down his glass, his tone heavy with significance. “Maybe it’ll stop you from bothering Luna about it.”

“Luna’s foster father, Comrade Niall Sterling, died saving the five of us. Of course we’re going to do everything we can for her. It’s our debt for his sacrifice.”

A shadow of regret crossed Kai’s face, and he murmured, almost to himself, “It’s a shame we lost track of our benefactor’s biological daughter all those years ago. Otherwise, I could have had two little sisters.”

Bramwell was stunned.

He never would have guessed this was the connection!
