My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 39

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**

**Chapter 39: The Shopping**

Oriana seized a shopping cart, her fingers gripping the handle as she expertly looped Micah’s hand over it. She steadied the other side, a determined gleam in her eye. “You’re going to follow my lead, alright?” she instructed, her voice playful yet firm.

“Sure, I’m good. Don’t worry about me—get whatever you want,” Micah replied, his tone casual, but there was an underlying current of curiosity in his voice.

“Alright then, let’s do this.”

As they strolled through the store, Oriana contemplated the mundane items she needed. Micah’s home was well-stocked, but she yearned for her preferred brands and familiar materials. After all, she was planning to stay for two whole years, and it would bring her comfort to surround herself with the things she loved.

In her heart, she felt that Micah’s home lacked a certain warmth, a personal touch that made a house feel like a home.

Suddenly, an idea sparked in her mind, illuminating her features with excitement.

She led Micah towards the lifestyle section, a vibrant area bursting with an array of plants, colorful flowers, and even small, lively animals. The air was thick with the scent of earth and greenery, invigorating her senses.

As Oriana wandered, her gaze fell upon a small water pool, glistening under the store’s bright lights.

Turning back, she found Micah standing obediently, his eyes fixed straight ahead, his demeanor almost robotic. A playful glimmer danced in her eyes as a mischievous thought took shape.

“Micah, what do you think about getting two little turtles?” she proposed, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.

“Turtles?” he echoed, a hint of bewilderment creeping into his tone.

“Yes! The house is so spacious, and it’s just the two of us. Even with Chubby around, it feels a bit empty. Adding two little family members could really liven things up,” Oriana explained, her excitement palpable.

She studied him closely, her expression earnest. “Turtles are low-maintenance. They’re quiet, and it’s fun to watch them explore. Would it bother you?”

Micah had grown accustomed to solitude. At Caldwell Manor, he had his own floor, a sanctuary where he rarely allowed anyone to intrude upon his space. The lively scene Oriana painted was unfamiliar to him, yet he felt a flicker of willingness to embrace this new idea.

As long as it brought her joy.

“It won’t bother me. It’s your decision. You choose,” he said, his voice steady, yet there was an underlying softness to it.

“Really? Then I’m definitely getting them!” Oriana exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.

With a nod of approval from him, she bent down, her focus shifting to the turtles in the tank, examining them with care.

“Both are little grass turtles, about the size of your palm. One male and one female. Feel them—think of it as choosing their owner,” she said, her voice laced with excitement.

As she spoke, Oriana gently took Micah’s hand, placing the turtles delicately in his palm. The sensation was sticky and cool, unfamiliar to him, and it made him flinch slightly.

“Careful!” he exclaimed, his instinct to protect kicking in.

Seeing him nearly drop one, Oriana quickly supported his hand, cupping it tenderly with hers. Their fingers brushed against each other, and in that fleeting moment, the chaotic world around Micah seemed to come to a halt, the noise fading into a distant echo.

Oriana’s gaze was fixed on him, her expression intense and searching.

From surprise to a dazed state, Micah lingered in a stunned silence, struggling to regain his composure. Oriana momentarily thought he was frightened.

This was Oriana’s first experience with turtles. Following the staff’s advice, she gathered all the essentials, checking out and opting for home delivery, her heart racing with anticipation.

Micah carried the small glass tank housing the two turtles, and Oriana walked beside him, stealing glances at the little creatures and occasionally stifling giggles, the joy bubbling within her.

Curious about her laughter, Micah turned to her, his brow furrowing. “What are you laughing at?”

“Nothing, it’s nothing,” she replied, though her suppressed giggles betrayed her.

Micah, both helpless and indulgent, called out, “Oriana?”

His voice, low and steady, rolled off his tongue like honey drizzled over velvet.

Instantly, Oriana’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and she raised her hand to cover her face, overwhelmed by the warmth of the moment.

Micah’s features, perfectly proportioned, held an almost hypnotic symmetry that was hard to resist.

It was all too tempting.

Oriana found herself pleading, “You’re holding two turtles. It’s just so cute.”

“Cute?” Micah murmured thoughtfully, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

It seemed he had heard somewhere that when a woman called a man cute, it was the highest form of praise and affirmation.

With a playful smile, Oriana looked at him, feeling the weight of the moment, knowing that this was just the beginning of their shared journey.
