Chapter 411 The Lobster Incident
Chapter 411 The Lobster Incident
Kenny, who thought his heart had long turned to ashes, felt its last remaining fragments burn to dust once more.
Oriana seized the moment to steer the conversation elsewhere. “How long do you plan to stay in Seabar?”
“Ugh, don’t even ask,” Zara complained, pursing her lips. “My parents are insisting on putting Kenny through his paces. They’ve made him move into our house–this’ll probably take at least ten days to settle.”
Earlier at dinner, Darius had prepared a lavish spread of seafood to welcome Kenny, including Zara’s favorite–braised crayfish.
The moment they sat down, just as Zara was about to indulge, she caught Darius and Willa staring pointedly at her while subtly glancing toward Kenny.
The unspoken message was clear: they were waiting for Kenny to play the attentive boyfriend.
Beneath the table, Zara had furiously typed out a negotiation on her phone, finally striking a deal that convinced His Highness to cooperate.
Kenny was equally exasperated. He held up his two sauce–stained hands. “Three whole pounds of crayfish. Unbelievable. How can you eat that much?”
Zara sniffed, “Only three pounds? My dad used to peel five pounds for me all by himself. That’s nothing!”
Kenny gave a sarcastic thumbs–up. “You’re really something else.”
Zara turned away, refusing to engage.
“Oriana, you and Micah were absolutely brilliant at the summit today! I caught the live stream. That Grant, putting on such a show, and then Micah steps up and ends it with one line! So incredibly satisfying!” Zara gushed excitedly.
Hearing her praise Micah actually improved Kenny’s mood somewhat. This was the loyalty of a true admirer–sharing in their triumphs.
Oriana smiled, glancing toward Micah. “Hear that? Zara’s singing your praises.”
Micah’s expression softened slightly. “Yes, I heard.”

Oriana leaned closer, her whisper warm against his ear. “So you’re not upset anymore?”
Micah played innocently. “When was I ever upset?”
“About those names earlier…”
The man maintained his deadpan delivery. “That’s a separate issue.”
Oriana felt a little flustered. So, would that ‘separate issue‘ be settled with her later?
Zara chattered excitedly on the other end, mostly about how satisfying it was to see Grant and Luna, that scumbag and his mistress, get their comeuppance.
“But Grant still made a lot of money from this summit. I checked the order volume on his official site. Tsk, it broke fifty million. So many people with money to burn! They actually bought into such a grandiose promise.”
She was still fuming. “If Micah’s robot could be launched commercially, hardly anyone would buy Grant’s knock–off!”
Oriana offered a gentle smile and explained, “Chubby’s production costs are too high right now. Launching it commercially would cause major controversy.”
Zara was puzzled. “Then what about Grant’s OHM? His is priced at 199,000, which seems somewhat reasonable? It’s just the cost of a car or a watch for wealthy people.”
Oriana didn’t understand either and looked to Micah for an answer.
Micah explained in a low voice, “The finished product… Grant hasn’t fully completed it yet.”
“What?”
“The exhibition area only displayed one OHM unit. If mass production were feasible, they would have displayed more units for promotional purposes. But Grant only showed one.” Kenny caught on immediately. “Grant plans to use the pre–order deposits to fund further R&D in his own studio, trying to redesign and lower the cost framework!”
“Correct. He’s gambling,” Micah’s lips curved slightly. “He thinks he can win.”
Zara still didn’t fully understand. “But hasn’t he already won? I heard the non–refundable deposit is sixty thousand per order. His studio’s accounts must be flooded with cash today!”
Sixty thousand per person, over fifty million in orders… Zara couldn’t even fathom the math!

But Micah was unequivocal, stating with conviction, “He can’t deliver.”
Zara’s interest was piqued. “Why can’t he deliver? Explain!”

“The OHM prototype showcased today is already the result of maximizing modified data. It can’t achieve stable mass production. To mass produce, he would inevitably need to invest in more test data, manpower, and capital. He miscalculated the cost of this venture.”
In his previous life, Grant had indeed successfully launched OHM to great acclaim.
But that was under the premise of having the Research Center’s backing.

He hadn’t needed to worry about research funding or talent, and he had a stream partnership orders linked through the Research Center, with no concerns about recouping costs, allowing him to operate freely and profit greatly.
But in this life, Grant, having suffered repeated setbacks, was flustered, had lost his composure, and was now taking a desperate risk.
