Chapter 413 The Wrong Embrace
“Eat this first. The dinner will be ready in ten minutes.”
Oriana stared blankly at the jerky in her hand for a moment.
Why did she feel like she’d just been tricked by someone?
OHM’s orders had smashed through the fifty million mark. To celebrate, the entire Mountain River Planet team had splurged, booking the Diamond Suite at Jindiwood’s most exclusive venue, the Velvet Midnight. Bottles of imported liquor costing over a hundred thousand each lay scattered across the floor as Alaric and the others drank themselves into a stupor, the atmosphere electric.
“We’re rich! Grant, we’re really about to make it big this time!” Alaric slung an arm around Grant, his grin stretching from ear to ear.
Grant was drunk.
But he couldn’t share the joy.
So what if they were rich?
He had lost completely today, defeated by Micah. What was the point of earning billions?
Aside from family background and the research center, what right did Micah have to be better than him?
Grant refused to accept it!
He didn’t speak, just grabbed a bottle and poured the alcohol down his throat expressionlessly until he was utterly senseless.
Alaric watched and chuckled, thinking Grant was just overjoyed.
“Grant, you’re happy too, right? Hehe, but stop drinking. If you go back like this, Luna will blame me.”
Grant snorted disdainfully, “Are you on her side or mine?”
“Me? Of course I’m on your side, Grant!”
“Then ignore her!”

“Okay, I’ll listen to you, Grant!”
Alaric was dragged away for another round of drinks. By the time he returned, Grant was already passed out on the sofa, unconscious.
Alaric waved a grand hand, hiccupping as he summoned a server. “Go place for our Mr. Holloway to rest in.”

“Yes, sir!”
Two attendants carefully helped Grant out of the private room.
In the hallway, a slender figure approached, her eyes clear and bright. “I’m his girlfriend. You can hand him over to me.”
After getting a clear look at the woman’s face, the two attendants didn’t move.
Today’s AI Summit dominated headlines across all major platforms.
Micah and Oriana were the biggest winners.
But Grant and Luna had also garnered significant attention.
These staff members, who kept up with current affairs, naturally recognized that the woman before them was not Grant’s fiancée, Luna.
Jonathan, seeing they weren’t cooperating, was about to lose her temper when Grant, in his stupor, slowly stirred. His eyelids lifted, and his gaze landed on her.
For just a moment, his pupils shook.
A complex, murmured word escaped his lips. “Oriana.”
The moment the word fell, Grant took a large step forward, pulled Jonathan into his arms. without hesitation, and descended upon her with a stormy, desperate kiss, as if he wanted to devour her whole.
Jonathan let out a soft moan, offering no resistance as Grant plundered, even rising on her toes to respond, her expression one of enjoyment.
The intimacy between the two suggested this wasn’t their first close encounter.
Seeing this, the two attendants silently slipped the room key into Jonathan’s hand and tactfully
retreated.

At the Velvet Midnight, they were long accustomed to such scenes; far more explosive and spicy things happened regularly. This was nothing.
But they weren’t fools. They figured out that while this woman wasn’t Grant’s fiancée, her demeanor and figure resembled Micah’s wife, Oriana. Combined with Grant’s emotionally charged utterance of ‘Oriana…
Tsk, it seemed the online rumors were true. Grant still couldn’t let go of harbored resentment!

The next morning, in the Diamond Suite atop Velvet Midnight, floor–to–ceiling curved windows on three sides framed a breathtaking panorama of half Jindiwood’s bustling cityscape, laying the vibrant metropolis at their feet.
Grant sat up, clutching his forehead, the aftermath of a severe hangover clouding his mind.
It took a long moment for his eyes to fully open and process the scene before him.
Their clothes were scattered across the floor. A completely naked woman lay on her side, her back covered in kiss marks. Grant’s brow furrowed tightly, and a wave of frustration washed over him.
Of all times to cause such a troublesome mess… really…
“Mr. Holloway, you’re awake?”
A soft, delicate woman’s voice sounded.
Assuming she was one of the Velvet Midnight’s hostesses, Grant spoke impatiently, “Name your price. Not a single word about what happened today leaves this room.”
Jonathan was taken aback. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes as she covered her face, voice full of grievance. “I know I’m not worthy of you, Mr. Holloway, but I’m not you think I am! What happened last night… I was willing! You don’t need to humiliate me!”

Having said this, Jonathan wrapped herself in the duvet and scrambled off the other side of the bed.
A stark smear of red on the bedsheets caused Grant to freeze for a split second. When he finally registered whose voice that was, he got up, strode over, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her back.
