My Reborn Admirer Wins Over My Heart (Oriana) novel Chapter 49

**TITLE: He Returned to Break and Own Me and for His Queen**
**Chapter 49: The Complaint**

The air was thick with tension, a palpable weight that hung between them. Oriana stood there, her expression unwavering, as she prepared to unleash the truth that had been festering within her for far too long.

“For my own good,” she began, her voice steady yet laced with an edge of bitterness, “you promised to take me to Fortine Mount. But in the end, it was Lana you took, and you shattered the very charm I had pleaded with you to preserve.”

She paused, letting her words sink in, her heart racing with a mix of anger and betrayal. “For my own good,” she continued, her tone growing sharper, “you and Luna decided to rent that apartment upstairs, all for the convenience of sneaking around, indulging in your desires at all hours of the day and night.”

As she recounted Grant’s transgressions, a smile played on her lips, but it was devoid of warmth, a chilling contrast to the turmoil swirling within. Her eyes locked onto Grant’s, and she noted the way his facade of confidence was crumbling, revealing the shattered man beneath. “You kept insisting it was for my benefit, Grant, yet all you’ve done is inflict pain on me time and time again. Is this what you call doing good for me?”

“Your version of goodness is absurd, laughable, and utterly worthless to me,” Oriana declared, her voice gaining strength with each word.

Grant’s breath came in hot, uneven gasps, his body trembling as if he were caught in a storm of his own making. “Y-you already knew?” he stammered, the panic rising in his chest.

“Not from the very beginning,” Oriana replied, her tone flat and unyielding. “But I figured it out soon enough. At least it wasn’t too late for me to see the truth.”

She observed him, teetering on the brink of despair, and found his reaction almost comical. He was the one who had betrayed her—what right did he have to wear the mask of a victim?

“Listen to me, Oriana,” Grant pleaded, desperation creeping into his voice. “There’s only you in my heart. My involvement with Luna—it’s not what you think. We were merely using each other. I only did it because of Aurora—”

“So what?” Oriana interrupted, her lips curling into a cold smirk that sent shivers down his spine. “Grant, no matter your reasons, you’re already tainted.”

The impact of her words struck him like a physical blow, leaving him gasping for breath, the weight of her disdain pressing down on him.

He opened his mouth to defend himself further, but just then, Oriana’s phone buzzed with an incoming message. She glanced at the screen, her expression shifting as she chose to ignore him entirely, turning her back and walking towards a sleek black Alphard that had just arrived at the curb.

Grant’s heart twisted in anguish, a sudden realization crashing down on him like a wave. He remembered the application form he had seen earlier—she was married!

His expression darkened as fury and humiliation surged through him. He stepped forward, grabbing her wrist with a fierce grip. “So just because I made mistakes, you decided to get back at me in the same way?” he spat, his voice a mixture of rage and disbelief.

Oriana let out a mocking laugh, her eyes glinting with disdain. “The way you mean—are you suggesting that’s betrayal?”

Grant froze, momentarily at a loss for words. “I—”

With a swift motion, Oriana yanked her wrist free, shoving his hand away with a force that surprised them both. “The moment you chose betrayal, we were finished.”

The sight of that marriage license was like a dagger to Grant’s heart, freezing him in place. His entire body stiffened as if he had been struck by lightning.

Seizing the opportunity, Oriana pulled her hand away and turned, walking purposefully towards the waiting Alphard, refusing to look back.

When Kieran had arrived, she had already spotted him. She signaled for him to remain where he was, indicating that she could handle this situation on her own.

Only when Oriana was close did Kieran step out of the driver’s seat and open the back door for her.

“Let’s head home,” he said simply, glancing at her with a hint of concern. “I only have an hour and a half for lunch.”

“Okay,” Oriana replied, slipping inside without hesitation.

Kieran closed the door and drove away, the sleek black car merging seamlessly into the flow of traffic.

Behind them, Alaric stole a glance at Grant, concern etched on his face. “You okay, man?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
