Chapter 514 Secrets and Trust
Oriana gave Micah a slightly exasperated look. She thought he wasn’t interested in such things, but it turned out he had been observing quietly, taking in every detail.
She explained, “Pretty much. When we first entered, I instinctively looked for the source of the strong perfume. She met my gaze and immediately separated from the man–a subconscious move to hide something, a sign of guilt.
“But at first, I didn’t think much of it. Later, when she actively picked a fight and claimed her husband was the deputy station master, I noticed the man made no move to defend or intervene. Plus, the attendant clearly didn’t recognize him. By the time she tried to stop us from finding Holden, I was almost certain.”
“Wow!” Zara gave a thumbs–up. “Oriana could be a detective!”
Suddenly remembering something, she narrowed her eyes and teased Micah meaningfully, “You’d better be careful. Oriana is so clever. Don’t do anything shady behind her back–you’ll be in big trouble if you get caught.”
Kenny felt a chill hearing this and quickly covered her babbling mouth. “Don’t go looking for trouble.”
Micah’s thin lips pressed together slightly, his expression unreadable.
Oriana looked at Zara, puzzled. “Zara, what did you mean by that just now?”
Kenny cut in first, “Don’t listen to her nonsense.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, he saw Zara lean back suddenly. Kenny’s soul nearly left his body as he quickly reached out to support her waist, preventing her from losing balance and falling.
With her mouth free again, Zara immediately craned her neck close to Oriana’s ear and whispered something quickly.
By the time Kenny reacted, it was too late to stop her.
“Zara!”
“What?” Zara swayed her head playfully. “We are sharing secrets. Why are you getting so worked up?”
“You!” Kenny was so angry he couldn’t speak.
In all his life, he had never met a creature more infuriating than Zara!
And yet, he couldn’t do anything about her!
She must have been his nemesis in a past life!
Zara spoke very fast, but Oriana still heard clearly.
She mentioned the small secret room in Micah’s bedroom at the Caldwell Estate.

Oriana smiled gently, “Zara, I know it.”
Zara, who had been smugly shaking her head at Kenny, froze and turned. “Huh? You know?”
“Yes, I discovered it a long time ago, and he told me about it.”
“So you…” Zara leaned closer again. “Have you been inside? What’s in there?”
Oriana shook her head. “No. Everyone has their own secrets and privacy. I respect that.”
Her freshly piqued curiosity instantly deflated with a thud. Zara pouted listlessly. “Alright.”
Oriana patted her shoulder with a smile. “Don’t overthink it. I trust he wouldn’t keep things from me. Why don’t you get some rest? We still have a while to go.”
“Okay.”
After soothing Zara, Oriana turned back to coax Micah. “You should rest too, right? You were busy with work last night and didn’t sleep well.”
“You rest with me.”
“Okay.”
Oriana leaned on the armrest between them, tilting her head to rest against his solid, strong arm, and slowly closed her eyes.
Micah lowered his gaze, his eyes behind the dark–tinted glasses fixed intently on her serene sleeping face. But he felt no drowsiness. He simply watched quietly, never looking away.

In Velvet Midnight, Grant saw the viral news clip on Alaric’s phone.
Watching Oriana and Micah holding hands at the high–speed rail station, and seeing Oriana actively shield Micah and stand in front of him during the dispute, Grant nearly crushed the phone in his hand on the
spot.
