Chapter 516 The Substitute
“Hey Edgar, what are you spacing out for?”
“Could it be you’re dazzled and can’t choose? Hahaha!”
Suddenly pushed from behind, Edgar snapped out of his nostalgic reverie.
He refocused his gaze on the woman not far
away.
Her eyes and brows were 70-80% similar to Oriana’s, and her figure was also quite alike, though she wasn’t as tall as Oriana, nor did she possess her gentle, reassuring aura.
But…
A substitute wasn’t bad.
At least he still had a chance to experience what it might be like to have her.
Edgar picked up his glass, took a big gulp, and stood up, walking straight toward the woman.
Jonathan had only come because she received a tip, never expecting to run into these foul–smelling men holding a selection.
Such an opportunity was exactly what she wanted.
But who could have guessed that Grant would just keep drinking, not even glancing her way!
Jonathan kept her head down, scheming how to catch Grant’s attention.
Just then, a shadow suddenly fell over her. A pair of leather shoes stopped in front of her, followed by a hand lifting her chin…
“Tsk, such a pure and refined beauty.”
From closer up, Edgar saw Jonathan’s features even more clearly. For a moment, he was spellbound…
So similar!
Especially when Jonathan suddenly lifted her eyes, showing startled, innocent confusion. For an instant, it was as if Edgar had traveled back years, accidentally colliding with Oriana as she chased recklessly after Grant on campus.
The girl was flustered, hurriedly picking up the scattered items from the ground, neatly arranging them in his hands. With a fleeting glance, she was already eagerly running after Grant, disappearing into the
distance…
Edgar stared at her, lost in thought. His hand on Jonathan’s chin unconsciously wandered upward, caressing her cheek.

The touch was gentle and nostalgic, as if carefully handling a hard–won treasure.
In a crowd, Edgar was average–looking, nothing compared to Grant.
Especially now, after a few drinks, his eyes were glazed and clingy. Jonathan only felt a wave of disgust and took a panicked step back.
The warmth in his palm fled. Edgar snapped back to reality, displeased, narrowing his eyes. “What are you backing away for? Didn’t the manager teach you why you’re here?”
Jonathan’s eyes instantly reddened. She looked longingly toward Grant.
Just as she was about to speak, Edgar noticed the gesture. Feeling the sting of being ignored yet again, his expression darkened instantly.
He forcefully grabbed Jonathan’s arm, his movements strong and rough, pulling her over and into his
arms.
“Look at what? You can only look at me!”
With that, he swept Jonathan up in his arms.
“Wow! Edgar’s on fire! Playing out the domineering CEO and delicate girl script?”
“Oho, Edgar’s been holding back, hahaha!”
“Look at Edgar, so eager. Go to one of the private rooms. We don’t want to watch the live version!”
Edgar’s heart burned hot. Thinking of the girl he once only dared to admire from afar now in his arms, under his control, his blood boiled. Without another word, he headed for the private rooms, still holding Jonathan.
Jonathan panicked completely. She struggled desperately, calling out to Grant’s figure, “Mr. Holloway, save me!”
Edgar’s eyes reddened further, tightening his grip.
“Shut up! Tonight, I chose you. No one can take you away!”
After snarling this, his strides grew larger.
Just as he was about to carry Jonathan into the private room, suddenly someone grasped his shoulder from behind.
Edgar was in the heat of the moment and irritably shoved back. “Don’t bother me! Can’t you see I’m busy?!”
“Put her down.”
